Thunder Storm

Trigger Warning~ None besides a few swear words it's mostly fluff, word count~964

It was a cold fall night I was sitting at my desk finishing the last of the homework for the night so I could enjoy the weekend. I finished the last math problem when I heard the pouring of rain "shit" I thought to myself I crossed my fingers hoping that the thing I didn't want to happen wouldn't but alas it did. The claps of thunder echoed in my bedroom my body trembled to the sounds of thunder, ever since I was a kid. have been terrified of thunder I didn't grow out of it like most kids, nope it stuck with me, sadly my parents were out of town for a week for work so I was all alone.

 I sat up from my desk and went to the phone dialing my boyfriend Eddie's number as I listened to the dial tone "come on bubs, pick up please pick up", after a few rings I heard the sweet sound of his "Hey princess how's it going" I smile at the sound of his voice "hey Eddie is there any way you can come over and spend the night, gosh this is going to sound embarrassing but I'm kinda sorta scared of thunder it would mean al lot to me if you could come over". I heard him chuckle over the phone "sure I'll be there in about fifteen minutes princess". I smile and hang up the phone and go to put on a pair of pajamas and looked outside my bedroom window watching the storm and jumping at the sound of the claps of thunder.

About fifteen-twenty minutes later I see Eddie's van pull into my driveway. I smile at the sight of my boyfriend. He walks up the tree by my bedroom window and starts to climb I open my window and greet my adorable boyfriend I helped him escape the rain. He greeted me by picking me up and spinning me around he kissed me on the forehead before putting me down. He took off his iconic jacket and put it on the back of my desk chair.

I sat on my bed and patted the space next to me letting Eddie know that I wanted to sit next to him he sat next to me wrapping one of his arms around my shoulder.

"Hey princess" Eddie spoke up

"What up bubs" I responded back

"Why didn't you tell me that you were afraid of thunder you know that I wasn't going to judge you" he looked at me with such kindness in his beautiful brown eyes that just makes me melt every time he looks at me like that. Gosh, I love him.

"I don't know Eddie I never told anyone my fear of silly little thunder, I know it sounds stupid and I apologize that I didn't say anything sooner"

Eddie chuckles "Y/n princess I am never going to judge you okay don't even think of a silly thing like that". Within seconds of that one of the biggest claps of thunder that either of us have heard I jumped to the echoes of thunder and hide in Eddie's chest. Eddie chuckles to himself "my lady I will fight this so-called thunder if it's the last thing I do" this causes us to both laughs.

I smiled to myself knowing this golden retriever of a boy would do anything to make me feel protected and loved and that made me feel safe.

Eddie got up from the bed holding out his hand I grab it and "come on let's go" he said

I follow him as we walk down the stairs he unlocks the front door and he runs outside in the pouring rain I watch him as he gets soaked "Eddie what are you doing you're going to catch a cold" I pleaded "He ran over towards me and picked me up and brought me outside once we were outside he put me down I could feel myself start to get soaked. Eddie put a hand on my shoulder and one on my waist and starts to sway as we start to slow dance in the rain, laughing and smiling along the way.

After about twenty minutes of dancing in the rain, we both decided it was time to head back inside. Once I and Eddie got inside we went upstairs and I went to the linen closet to grab a couple of fresh towels for us. As we both started to dry off I went to my dresser grabbing a pair of sweatpants that I had gotten for him when we have sleepovers. I hand them to him "here you go bubs" he smiles at me while I grab a fresh pair of pajamas and go to change.

After leaving the bathroom with a fresh change of pajamas I walk into my bedroom to be greeted by my boyfriend Eddie was already under the comforter with his arms open singling to me that we wanted cuddles I got into bed and put my head on his chest listening to his heartbeat as he rubbed my back. 

As we both laid there we noticed that the rain finally died down I decided it was best to break the silence "Bubs I just wanted to thank you for what you did tonight you helped me overcome my fear of thunder".

He chuckled "I love you, m'lady I'm glad by me being there you overcame a fear, I love you to the moon and back but I was looking forward to fighting the lords of the thunder, but for you, I'll make an exception".

As we both laid there we felt our eyes getting heavier by the moment and before all too long we were both asleep in each other embraces.
