Barbatos x Reader Already His Part 1

Each time you were invited for tea or to discuss important events with Lord Diavolo you noticed how his Butler Barbatos were always around.. not to mention.. the lingering eye contact.

You'd fidget in your seat and squirm a little from the look in his eye sometimes forgetting what you were even discussing with the King.

"What is it y/n, has something got you distracted?" Lord Diavolo's sharp gaze met yours and you felt yourself grow nervous and embarrassed at the same time.

Barbatos, who was stood by Diavolo's side smiled to himself as he came over closely to your side and leaned in meticulously to refill your tea.

You cleared the lump in your throat and shook your head.

"It's nothing. I just have a lot on my mind these days" You lied going with the first excuse you could come up with.

Diavolo watched you a moment longer before chuckling to himself. He didn't directly pick up that it were Barbatos distracting you but he had a feeling it might be something related.

"Ah, well if that's the case why don't I give you a break for today. We can pick this up again in the morning" he leaned back into his chair settling the matter.

"O-Okay" you nodded nervously as you began to get up from your seat.

"Not going to finish your tea?" Barbatos asked and you gulped sitting back down which only made Lord Diavolo smile more.

You were incredibly nervous and it were becoming more apparent by the second.

You took the tea cup with your head down just trying to ignore the feeling of their eyes on you.

You looked down noticing your hand were actually shaking and quickly steadied it with your other to hide the fact. 

You took a sip nervously as they continued to analyze you.

The tea were quite nice actually... Was this not the same tea from before? You wondered. It tasted different from the one earlier.

You suddenly felt your nerves die down almost instantly as you looked up at the two of them in shock.

What just happened.

"Ah, feeling better then are we?" Diavolo smiled leaning forward in his seat while Barbatos simpered to himself.

"That tea has a particularly calming effect" Barbatos explained.

Underneath the table you glanced down at your hand and noticed it were no longer shaking as you glanced back between the king and his butler. How did they do that.

"Why don't we continue where we left off" you said out loud to your own surprise and they both smiled.

"Well, if you're up to it then sure" Diavolo waved his hand openly.

"So, along with what I was saying earlier. I'm quite impressed with all your hard work here in the Devildom Y/n. Not to mention the way in which you've calmed Lucifer and his brothers down. I honestly never could have anticipated such a ripple effect from a mere human."
