Sevika's cigar was hanging out of her lips as she made her way through the bustling streets of Chicago.
Her boss, Silco, had called her to talk about their next selling with an unfamiliar group. Unfamiliarity had always sparked suspicion, so she willingly decide to stroll the streets.
Today seemed busier than usual as more tourists stopped by. Sevika hated tourists. They disturbed the flow and most importantly, they disturbed her.
Taking pictures in an outfit that is simply worn for just that, girls talking to their camera as if they're famous, people wandering aimlessly wondering where to go and scared they might end up in the "hood", the wannabe gangsters throwing up gang signs when they don't even know the feeling of having a gun pressed against their temple, and the homeless people begging for drugs that they used to be dealt by Sevika. It all irked her.
She finally made it to the closed bar that wouldn't open until 7pm, around the time the sky began to darken. It was only 12:13pm when she had arrived, but 12:14 when she finally managed to unlock the door to enter, quickly locking it back up behind her.
Silco, usually in what most people call his "layer", was sitting on a purple, velvet seat with his cane propped up beside him. The pipe in his hand signaled he was in a relaxed mood, but even though he typically was calm, Sevika could tell the difference.
Silco had a couple of his men nearby, yet somewhat scattered. They acknowledged Sevika with a nod in which she returned as she made her way to a seat in front of Silco.
Sevika slowly fell into her seat, feeling automatic comfort in the velvet furniture. Her legs man-spread as she placed her right arm up against the back of the chair.
"Comfortable?" Silco asked as he analyzed Sevika's posture.
She chuckled. "I have a thing for velvet."
Silco held a slight smile. "Glad you like it. I thought they'd be a nice touch."
Sevika nodded slightly as she used her mechanical arm to take the cigar out of her mouth, crushing and placing it in the large ash tray as she sat up to give Silco her full attention, all in one swift movement. "So what's with this group that you've mentioned?"
Silco leaned back in his chair as if he needed space to lay out his mind. "I have a feeling it's the Top Side Cops trying to get onto us. They've been trying for years. It wouldn't surprise me that they would do something like this. But I think it's clear that a lot of those self-conceited twerps are high as a kite half of the time because they purchase my shit through a web of indirect connections. If we get caught, we can't produce Shimmer. Best bet, we get some of those cops to sabotage their little undercover mission." Silco took another hit from his pipe. "I already have some of that plan moving along."
Sevika hated the Piltover Organization. It was designed to get rid of people like them. They've taken so much from them. That's why she joined Silco. To fight back, even if it meant the end of her life. Her purpose belonged to Zaun, their part of Chicago.
"You know me, you say, I do." Was all Sevika responded.
That's what Silco admired. Her loyalty and how she never questioned him. "That package is being prepared now and we'll be shipping it to them tomorrow. Round up your men. Explain to them their task. You will go, but you will be at a distance. They are all too familiar of you. You only go in if things go left."
Sevika nodded. She stood up as she took in the information given to her. She turned around to head to the door, but stopped when he spoke her name.
"Oh Sevika, we have a new intern coming in today. I was hoping you would be her mentor." He blew out smoke that seemed to travel it's way around Sevika's thick neck, restraining her from declining.
She only groaned. "You know mentoring is not my specialty."
Silco chuckled. "I also know that you're the best of the best, and also, Jinx... well we both know that she does tend to play around more, so my best option is you."
Sevika scoffed. "Playing around is an understatement." Her voice was too low to hear her remark. "Fine Silco, what's the girl's name?"
"Her name is Ember."
