Stella found herself in a comfortably small spare room that no one occupied. Gracefully and with precision, she began to dust the place, ridding all of the unwanted access material that dwelled upon surfaces with gentle rhythmic sweeps. She sighed, feeling relaxed as she moved from object to object that varied in size, making sure it all was spotless and pristine.
"-Ooh, Hello there," someone called from outside the room.
Stella paused, tilting her head towards the sound as she turned to see who caught her attention, "Good morning, Alastor." She nodded once she realized who it was.
"Good morning to you as well, dear." he chimed as he walked into the room to see what she was up to. He continued to grin, raising his hand as he summoned his staff, holding it loosely as he strode around, " And how is this hotel treating you so far?"
"Actually, very well! Everyone here is so delightful to be around! Honestly though, if it wasn't for you, I'd probably be out in the streets, Heaven knows where. I wanted to personally thank you for that,"
"Ah, it was nothing." He smiled along with a little cheerful melody that came from his staff that made his head tip side to side like a metronome.
"Hmm, mind if I help out? I hate standing here not making any use of myself while you work." He asked her kindly, which was a little bit unsettling coming from him, "It would be rude of me to watch, and I am simply bored."She paused, patting her foot gently on the floor as she thought. But after a few seconds, she gestures towards the room with her hands.
"I don't mind at all," Stella answered cheerfully as she continued to dust a large partially-filled oak bookshelf. She took out a thick red-coated book, admired its texture temporarily, and placed it back exactly as she found it undisturbed.
Meanwhile, Alastor conjured a feather duster himself. He waltzed up to the empty dresser with a proud stride. The dresser had a mirror hanging on a loose nail above it, and he began to dust its surface swiftly with quick movements of his wrist."Ooh, this is interesting?" Stella commented abruptly after a short silent moment. In her hand, she held a tall black, metallic stick that was roughly the size of her palm. It was heavy for its size, which made Stella think of the key Charlie had used to open Stella's room when she first arrived.
"Hmm? What is it there you have?" Alastor spun his head back just enough to allow him to see her.
Stella sighed as she kept rotating the object in her hand, trying to decipher what it was she held, "I believe it is some sort of candle holder. It looks quite rustic. Maybe someone forgot-!" She unexpectedly dropped the object, emitting a sharp but almost silent inhale through her teeth as she brought her finger to her face.
Alastor quickly reacted, catching the metallic object with a wisp of magic before it could clank on the floor and roll away someplace where it would never be found.
"Are you alright?" he asked quietly, gazing up at Stella, though his tone was still odd."Yes, I suppose, " She answered with a sadder tone, taking a closer look at her wounded finger.
"It may have cut me slightly, but I will be okay." She concluded with a grin."Allow me to see," Alastor approached Stella, leaving the duster on the dresser he almost finished cleaning. He took her hand, carefully looking at it. He noticed how fragile it looked from up close, noticing her skin was... porcelain? Her fingers resembled one of a puppet or doll, each section being able to move on its own as if it was held by ball-jointed joints. If he really wanted to, he could easily squish her hand in his and it would most definitely crack- but he didn't.
He paused momentarily, looking down at Stella with just his eyes as he noticed the colour of her blood. That lit a spark of interest.
"Your blood is golden?" He whispered under his breath, almost fascinated by the discovery.
