~ edit: FOUND ART TO PUT THATS FROM CHRISTMAS 2022~

Two days have flown by faster than one expected, and Alastor hasn't shown himself ever since.
Everyone seemed to be relatively calm, as if forgetting he was absent since in the back of their mind, they had this
subconscious feeling he'd return.
Everyone but Stella.

She walked around the hotel with a plastered smile on her face, acting as if his absence did not affect her much. With every passing hour, it became more and more difficult for her to maintain her composure, especially today.

Today is Christmas Eve, a day to spend with family and friends.
But where is Alastor?

Her wings were hovering lower than usual, despite her joyful appearance. They dragged behind her, as if the weight of her heart was simultaneously shared with her wings.
While she may be smiling and acting all well, her wings would portray her real mood and emotion. In this situation, however, no one seemed to bring the topic forward. Perhaps not to disturb her?

To this, Stella felt grateful for not receiving any attention due to her mood, but at the same time, if only she could tell someone everything on her mind.
"He'll be back soon," She reassured herself silently as she wandered the hallways aimlessly.
If he comes back at all.

"Heeeyy El!" A familiar voice called from behind Stella as she ventured alone. The feathers of her wings, which were being dragged upon the surface of the floor, rose with a clasping sound together in response to her name. They sat right behind her back after creating a sudden pull of air that made her hair sway.

"Hello, Angel, dear," Stella replied with a light delicate tone, though her voice sounded frail.

Angel tilted his head lightly, recognizing the way she spoke was foreign to what she'd usually sound like. It felt different. It felt off, definitely not like Stella.
"El?" He began, matching her pitch with his voice to empathize, "You alright?"

Stella inhaled quickly through her nose, only to exhale slowly with her mouth, "I am fine, I am only feeling a bit down, worried even."

"Bout Al?" Angel asked as he caught up to her, walking side by side. Their footsteps echoed loudly with each step they took, allowing the sound to bounce off the walls and dampen with each impact.
"Ya know," he continued, "I'm sure it'll be okay. C'mon, it's Alastor we're talkin' bout." He gave her a light encouraging smile.

"It's been two days,"

His smile faded, "Yeah I know,"

"Two days," Stella emphasized again, "Nothing to even tell us he's alright. To you, is that not strange?"

Angel looked aside for a moment as he collected his thoughts, "Hmm, maybe a bit."
The spider paused for a moment again, "But I'm tellin' ya. It'll be okay. Here, lemme propose some hot cocoa to get ya in the season's spirit, yeah? Come, it'll make ya feel better."

Stella barely parted her lips to smile, but just enough for him to notice, "Alright,"

...

Half an hour passed by now. Stella and Angel both stood beside each other in the kitchen as each held a cup of hot cocoa. The area smelled absolutely wonderful. It was a mix of chocolate, a hint of cinnamon and a dash of seasonal spirit.

" This is nice," Angel began after they both stood in silence for a while to indulge the sweet taste of their beverage.

Stella nodded, "Indeed, it is pleasant."

"Ya feelin' a bit better?" Angel asked her with a sympathetic tone, placing his free lower hand on her shoulder.

She nodded once more, not responding vocally as she had placed the rim of the cup to her lip so she could take another sip.
She smiled faintly afterwards as the cup was brought to her side, "It reminds me of the time when we went camping,"
