The sound of echoing shoes bellowed on the skyline of the city as the two ran, their feet propelled by the adrenaline stirring in the pit of their stomach.
The two trespassers ran, feeling mostly overjoyed along with a hint of fear as behind them the three men with their hands held to their sides chased them across the rooftops, scouting with their eyes half open as the two leaped gracefully across the building tops with ease.

Stella glanced back, noticing Alastor was just behind her, taking quick solid breaths with every step as she did, which reassured her. In front of the two stood a taller rooftop of which they managed to get on with little to no effort, however, there was a newer obstacle that came present. A tall and slanted triangular sunroof stood boldly in their sight. It was built with glass sheets, as well as being lined with a thin steel rail.

With just his eyes and a small gesture of his head, Alastor hinted for Stella to walk upon the structure, unless they both wanted to be caught. Stella instantly understood what to do, and hesitantly climbed as her hands began to sweat.

She was nervous.
What if it'll break?!
What if I will fall?!
What is down there?

Once on top of the surface, she gazed down below her feet to see a kitchen, faintly lit by the moonlight glow.

She held her breath.
Taking small balanced steps, she walked across the thin steel beam, almost making it halfway.
I am going to slip!
She eyed the halfway point, feeling the urge to run towards it as if it were a magnet pulling her in.

Her breath suddenly caught sharp as she felt her leg slip down the edge of the glass. Before she could react, she already had fallen through the roof, harshly embracing the cold floor with her side. Her spine tickled with an unsensational jitter as she exhaled sharply, bringing the only thoughts she could forge to her leg.
It stung.
If this feeling could ring with a sound, the sound would be ear muffling and quiet yet simultaneously be horrid like nails against a chalkboard.

"That was quite the fall," Alastor quickly commented as he landed close to her from above. His head quickly faced her wound, squinting his face in response as he gazed back at her, "Ouch- that doesn't look so good."

"What? What is it?"

"Some of the glass-"

"Don't say more..." she paused, concluding his sentence just in her head as she felt her stomach hurl a bit.
"Now what?"

The snarling call of the officers began to grow closer from above, the horridly bright light of their flashlights peering in like helicopter searchlights into the kitchen.

Stella tried to stand, wanting to run, but only deemed to collapse upon the tiled floor with her hands. She glimpsed at Alastor, her worried expression fading to gentle and light tears,
"I- I can't," her soft voice barely escaping as she spoke, "I can't run! It hurts-"

With a graceful motion, Alastor brought his hands under her body before she could finish. He pulled her close to his chest as he held her bridal style.
Stella felt slightly confused as she thought about the gesture, but at this moment in time, there was nothing better she could of think of as an alternative.

"There they are!" A deeper voice from above called.

"I got 'em' cornered!" Another called.

Their voices like screaming crows conversed between themselves. Closer and closer they came with each word that echoed like screeching among them.

"The freezer," Stella faintly pointed to a large metal door at the far end of the room.
Alastor, without arguing, ran into the room with her. He took off his sleeveless jacket, effortlessly throwing it onto the cold surface only to gently and carefully place Stella on top so she wouldn't have to rest on the bare floor.
Just in the nick of time, he shut the door behind him, locking them both in the freezer room.

"Now what?" Stella asked hazily as she tried not to bring much notion to her wound, even though her eyes were drawn to it.

"Well, I can't make a portal and leave witness to them all- simply so we can escape!" Alastor protested quietly as the sudden banging of fists bellowed deeply with each sound. It made the two feel as if the only thing hiding them against the officers would snap due to how cold it was.
"I sense this lock won't hold them long," Alastor added.

"Wait..." Stella began to think aloud. A sudden idea came to her, fuelled by adrenaline and fear yet determined, "It doesn't have to be a portal, but you do possess magic,"

"I do,"

"Then use a little of it, just so we can escape."

Alastor paused, letting the notion sink in, feeling it trail off his fingers "But with this- blasted modern technology, cameras and all... would I get away with it?"

"You are The Radio Demon, Alastor." Stella persisted with a slight edge in her drained voice, "You will get away with it..."
