Mumma where are we going?

Dada where is Vi chachu?

They promised me that I can play with Vamu the entire day. Where are they?

Mumma dada why are you so sad? Is it because I'm not eating vegetables? I promise I'll eat whatever you'll feed me. Smile now.

Sammy didn't know why her always smiling parents were so quiet and gloomy.

She didn't understand what was happening around her.

She was confused due to so many reasons but found answers to none.

One day-

'Why is he retiring so abruptly?' Sammy heard her parents talking who assumed that she was asleep.

Three of them were in their bedroom sleeping next to each other on the bed.

They would always sleep in the same room.

'I don't understand too. And Mahi bhai resigning too. What's happening there?' Ro muttered.

'Do you think Vi is in some problem?' Rits asked.

'I don't know. I just wish we were together with them.' Ro groaned.

Sammy was too young to understand about retirements and resignations. But she could see how happiness was lost in her parents life and she did understand each word when her father said that he wished they were all together.

From then on, talking about the three of them, playing their videos has  became a common site in the Sharma house hold.

So sammy never forgot them. She missed their touch. She missed cuddling with them, receiving kisses from them.

Reaching an certain age arose so many doubts in her mind. She began surfing through the internet to find answers because it was difficult for her to identify which news was true and which was fake.

Something that has stayed constant through the two decades was, they ended their day reliving their memories with the Kohli's and rarely the entire cricket team.  It had become a ritual that was followed quite religiously.

When she grow a little more older, she started seeing the pain her parents were going through. She was fifteen when the whole picture was visible quite clearly to her.

She came to know that her dad was banned permanently from cricket which was the reason they moved out of India.

She came to know that her Chachu had retired after very few days they moved out and also that her Chachu and Chachi separated around the same time.

But still she didn't know what the exact reason was for Vi's retirement. One day while looking for answers she stumbled upon an YouTube video.

Ro was at strike. He hit a defense shot in the very first ball and immediately took his helmet off. He seemed quite uneasy.

Rah walked up to him too check what's wrong. Ro was talking something but collapsed on the ground while he was midway.

The crowd couldn't keep calm and neither could the Indian team.

Vi was the first one to rush onto the ground. He was quickly followed by the other ICT members.

The crowd began erupting and Ro was taken away on a stretcher.

This video clip was followed by a picture of Ro's blood report which lasted about ten seconds and next came a clip of Dada who was seen holding the report in his hand, who stood at the podium as he began saying.

Rohit Sharma was found guilty of taking drugs to enhance his performance. I as the president of BCCI, am here to announce that Rohit Sharma has been banned permanently. The new captain will be announced soon.

Tears seeped down Sammy's face as she saw it. Her dad was her hero. He can't let her down, infact he can't let his nation down.

'No this is fake. This is fake' she told herself as she shut down her laptop.

How much she wanted to believe it to be fake, she could understand how it connected all the dots.

She remembers that one day they've suddenly moved out of India, the same time the happiness moved away from her parents face as well as their lives.

And from then he didn't play any cricket.

Her brain knew that what she has seen was true but it didn't matter to her heart which wasn't convinced and maybe didn't want to.

Acquiring all her guts and preparing herself that's she's gonna be devastated by the results, she opened her laptop again as she searched.
