'Where are you going?' asked Sammy as she saw Ro and Vi getting ready.
'They might be going on a date Sammy. Let's give them some privacy.'vami teased .
'Well actually we are going out with M.S' Ro informed the girls uncertainly.
'What? Why dada?'
'He wanted us to spend a day with him like old times. That's why.'
Vami immediately understood why M.S said so.
'But dada-'
'It's ok Sammy. It's just for a day right.' Vami silenced Sammy.
'Oh come on Vami, you are taking his side too much. Dada I'm sure she loves him more than you.' she complained.
'Like father like daughter.' Ro commented.
'I don't love him.' replied Vi harshly.
'Let's not get into it now. You guys do what you want to while I and Sammy will have our own time pass.' Vami decided that it would be better if that discussion is left there.
In the car:
Ro notices how familiar the road felt and immediately questioned regarding it. 'Where are we going?'
'Just a few kilometre more. Stay patient until then.' replied M.S from the driver's seat.
'I can't do this anymore. Stop the car.' Vi said.
'Are you alright?' asked the other two in unison.
'I will be, if I get down.' Vi started panting.
Mahi pulled over and Vi immediate got down.
'Is it better now?' asked Ro.
'Getting into the car with him reminded me of that day.' he admitted.
'Let's just sit here then.' proposed Mahi bhai. He knew his presence was making Vi uncomfortable but he only had a day in his hand and he had to spend time with them no matter what.
'Ok.' Vi replied and shifted his focus to the lake infront of them.
'I wish I was with you since we were kids bhai.' Vi said clinging onto his bhai.
'Do you wanna sit in his lap or what? Let him breathe.' Ro said.
'You are just jealous Ro. Anyways bhai narrate your childhood stories please.' Vi pleaded with puppy eyes.
'Some other time cheeku. Let's go to sleep now.'
'I won't sleep until you narrate atleast one incident.' Vi demanded.
'Ok just one. So there's this lake nearby my house. My grandfather would take me there every single day after my practice and we would have some hot and spicy fritters while enjoying the beautiful sunset by the lake.'
'Next time we'll come to your place and you are gonna take us there.' Ro said.
'Exactly what I was thinking. It would be so much fun.'
'Deal. But now go to sleep, we have a match tomorrow.'
'Good night bhai.'
'Is this the same lake?' asked Vi.
'Yes it is.'
'Which lake?' asked Ro and immediately recalled his memory.
'Funny how we come here after two decades with everything changed between us.'
'I'm sorry about that cheeku. I-'
'You promised that we won't talk about it M.S.' Ro reminded him.
'As if breaking promises is anything new to him.'
Ro felt exactly what Vi was feeling. Ro was equally or even more hurt with his bhai for not believing him. He didn't want to mend their relation at all but somewhere it hurt him to see everyone despising M.S
And on the other hand, Vi who was eager to meet his Bhai and sort their differences until a few days ago had a change of heart upon learning that his bhai was just acting.
'Are the fritters still sold?' Ro asked to divert the topic.
'Yes. Would you guys like to have some?' asked Mahi skeptically.
'Definitely. We wanna do something that's worthy.' Vi replied coldly.
'The plan was to be with each other like our old times. So maybe let's just stick to it and have a closure and move on from tomorrow.' Ro suggested.
'Right, we need a closure to this. Ok let's forget the present for a while. Let's get done with this fast and move one.' Vi was intentionally saying it as he wanted M.S to feel the pain one receive when their loved one breaks them in all ways possible.
'We should walk for a while to go to the shop. Would that be ok?' M.S asked ignoring all the harsh comments from Vi.
He knew things would get better in a few days and even if they don't, he won't be there to see that.
'Yeah fine. We'll walk.' Ro said.
They've walked for a kilometre and reached the shop. The cook, who was also the owner seemed to have recognised M.S and an smile immediately formed on his face.
(A/N: That cook who's also the owner reminded me of the guy who's the owner, chef and sometimes also the waiter. Can you guess him?)
'Mahi, you brought them finally. You promised me twenty years ago that you would bring your kidd-kidsos'
'It's kiddos chacha. And look I've brought them to your shop finally.'
'Give me fifteen minutes. I'll make the best fritters in the world for you all. Ramu, make sure they are comfortable.' said the cook as he rushed.
They sat in awkward silence for a while until the fritters were served.
'Mahi would always talk about you two. As a child he would always talk about how he wanted to meet Sachin, how he wanted Sachin to love him and all but once you guys have entered, Mahi would only talk about you two every time he would come to see me.' stated the cook delightfully as he served them.
'If you loved us that much, how could you hurt us?' questioned a teary eyed Ro as soon as they were alone again.
'I was so foolish back then Ro. I've made mistakes and I know I don't deserve a second chance. Trust me, I still regret my actions. I-' his voice trailed off.
Ro didn't want to see M.S crying or want to hear an explanation from him, he just wanted an apology which he wasn't receiving and that frustrated him.
'Sorry for talking about that. I broke the rule. Anyways let's get back to the deal now.' he immediately composed himself.
He was dejected because he wasn't receiving the apology but if only he knew what his Bahi was about to do to make himself deserving for Ro to forgive him.
I have severe body pains and my parents are strictly telling me not to go to college tomorrow. So I'm gonna update tomorrow as well✨
