I opercled the car as fast as I can to circumnavigate the whole place. Kakarating ko lang dito sa Phuket, which I didn’t expect to be that far. I need to find him until he’s here. The squad are also helping me to find him.
After I faint out last night, everything flashed on my mind. It’s like a throwback of our past. One thing I knew when I woke up, I fully remembered him. I may have forget him in my mind but my heart didn’t.
I looked at my phone when I heard it vibrating. It’s a call on our group chat. I answered it quickly before I turned my gaze on the road.
“Any update, guys?” Staive asked.
“Hindi ko pa siya nahahanap.” I answered as I continue to look everywhere.
“Are you guys sure that it’s him? You know, it’s impossible that he’s alive. We even attended his wake and burial.” Pia wondered.
“It’s impossible but maybe, just maybe, it’s really him.” Ysa responded on the other line.
“Don’t worry, Ja, nagpapatulong na ako sa family ko para makapagpa-investigate tayo kung totoo bang si Zion ang laman ng kabaong na ‘yon.” Gary ensured.
“Thank you, guys. It’s really a big help.” I uttered and sighed. “I’ll hang up this call for the meantime. I’m going to focus on finding him. I will update you if something happens.”
After ending the call, back to the same duty. Lingon dito, lingon doon at magdadrive ulit. Kung saan-saan ako nakarating kakahanap sa kaniya. Even though I’m not familiar to these places, I still tried searching. I even went to Kalasin but which is also far from Phuket but there’s no sign of him. I proceeded going to Chiang Mai and stopped by the nearest eatery I saw when I’m already starving. It’s just a small eatery but full of customers. I can consider myself lucky to find a seat, near the window. I ordered and eat the food quickly to search for him again. I was about to go out after paying when an idea came on my mind.
“Uhm, excuse me?” I tried to catch the attention of the eatery’s crew. I assume he can understand English since he’s like also a foreigner. “Excuse me, sir?” I called him again and this time, he looked at me and smiled.
“Yes, how may I help you, sir?” He answered while smiling.
“May I ask if you saw this guy around?” I asked and showed him a photo of Zion.
After a couple of seconds, he finally opened his mouth to speak, “Oh, he went here awhile ago to eat. He also sits in your seat and if my memory serves right, I heard the girl called him Zion.”
“Thank you so much, sir! I need to go now.” I immediately get out of the restaurant and was about to get on my car when I saw Zeia and Zion walking back to the restaurant. I’m a hundred percent sure that I’m not budging. It was really Zion!
“Kuya, dito ka muna. Check ko lang kung doon ko ba naiwan ‘yong wallet ko.” I heard Zeia told her brother.
Zion just nodded and Zeia went back to the restaurant. Habang wala pa si Zeia, I grabbed the opportunity to talk to him. He shot me a quick, confused glance before removing his hand.
“It’s you again?” He asked when he remembered me.
I held his hand once again. “Masaya akong nakita kitang muli.” I still cannot believe that he’s alive. Zeia pulled a trick to us. “Zion, can’t you really remember me?” A tear escaped from my eyes.
