NATHAN'S POV
I wake up and find myself in my bedroom. Which is impossible so I've been abducted but the painting on the wall tells me otherwise. I try to get up from the bed and succeed for five seconds before crashing to the ground. My body feels so numb that I don't even think it's my own body. How is that even possible
I shakily go downstairs to the kitchen to grab a quick bite which I didn't because while passing through the living room I hear Karen's conversation in the living room from the TV and the topic sounds pretty heated.
"I told you he was attacked what part of that don't you get."
"You are absolutely certain he was attacked by the same inhuman after us." The male voice said.
"I don't know but I have this feeling in my gut and my gut never lies to me."
"So what do you want us to do call the cops. They find out about everything not only the criminal but people behind the scenes of our project. We'll be hunted on two fronts with no safety and Incase you've forgotten That is what killed Jessica." Silence retains its presence for awhile before it is broken again
"We ruined her life and now it's going to be her kid. It's not fair." I could hear a little bit of sobbing. Who is this Jessica? It can't possibly be the same Jessica I knew?
"Listen Karen. He might not be after him but us so don't worry. We can't involve the police no matter what happens."
"We should leave Tennessee." She says.
"We don't know this guy's abilities but if he was powerful enough to bring down that boy and his objective is to hunt down the organization and kill everyone involved in the accident we are not safe anywhere we go because nothing stops him from finding us."
"So we are to stay here and do nothing."
"I'm just saying. Leaving isn't going to solve the problem..."
"But it can buy us time." She interrupts sharply.
"Fine we'll both leave. Keep the boy safe. I'll try contacting them." The man says and hangs up. I don't have to think twice before I know it's me that they're talking about but I didn't quite understand about seventy percent of that conversation so to understand of it. Whose them? Why would they mention Jessica? What does this have to do with her? I walk into the room to ask a few questions. When I enter she sees me and I can see she looks scared to pieces but before I can ask any questions she started first.
"You are supposed to be in bed for another three to four hours."
"Since when were you a doctor."
"I'm a biochemist an inhuman one for that matter and I've treated cases like yours ."
"Maybe you didn't account for my speed."
"I did, this would take an average inhuman about three weeks to heal you should be in bed for another three to four hours."
"Then maybe you didn't get your math right."
"Oh really. The last time I checked my math has been flawless." She said observing my weak-kneed style of walking."Now to bed."
AVA'S POV
It's been two days since I saw Nathan. Sandra keeps on saying he's okay but bedridden, I believe her but I'm worried about him. He might be in a critical condition. I've never seen someone in a messed up condition like he was and it's got me a bit worried. I'll visit him after tomorrow, I guess just to check on him.
I'm are having dinner at my house with the entire Chrisland family. Dad is here and he called a family dinner meaning something is about to happen so I come. It's not like I've spent time with my dad since he became a billionaire. He's always travelling, so I usually use opportunities like this to talk with him since we don't meet much. I miss the old family I had it was lovely, peaceful and nice. I wish I could have that again. Dad was never a travelling person. He was always at home.
