Many people say avenging is ridiculous. Anong mapapala mo kapag gumanti ka? May magbabago ba sa nangyari na? Wala, hindi ba?
Due to the traumatic experiences in life, my perspective had change. Dati, isa lang ako sa mga taong sumasagi sa isipan ang gumanti, manakit pabalik, pero hindi nagagawa. Kasi kasalanan 'yon, kasi masama. Now, I can throw back all the heartaches that people had given me without hesitating.
If giving back all the pain that was sent to me makes me a villain, then, so be it.
"Have you heard the new issue? May kumakalat na scandals ngayon." Jazlyne's eyes turn to me. "Isn't she your classmate, Ely? I also saw you hanging out with her and her friends last week."
"Yikes! Don't tell me they're your friends, Ely?" Thyra said in disgust.
Napapikit ako at umirap. "They are not. Wala lang akong ka-close sa mga kaklase namin. They just wanted to keep me company."
Jazlyne and Thyra is Ely's friends. Sinadya niya nila ako rito sa mansyon para mag-night swimming. I can't say no, since they already asked for Ely's parents for it. The two told me they missed me, and I seldom have conversations with them on the phone.
"Choose your friends wisely, Ely."
Nagpakawala ako ng buntong hininga at tumayo. Bumaba ako sa pool para samahan silang dalawa. May kaniya-kaniya kaming hawak na cocktail. Nakasuot din kami ng two piece swimsuit.
"I didn't know that she's a slut, okay? She was nice to me." I smiled faintly. "Sayang siya, 'no?" Dagdag ko pa na nanghihinayang.
Contrary to what I've voiced out, Robbie deserves it. I've suffered a lot 'till the day I died. Hindi ko siya maaaring palampasin sa mga ginawa niya.
Robbie, check! I hope she enjoys the attention she's receiving right now. Who's next? Just fall in line, friends!
Jazlyne gently splashed water to me. "Ano ka ba? Sayang? Seriously? Nakakahiya magkaroon ng kaibigang gano'n."
"True, Jaz." Thyra agreed, "I heard kinausap na siya ng faculty members. Do you know her punishment, Ely?"
I sipped to my drink and replied while looking at my reflection on the water. "Hindi siya pumasok kanina. Maybe she was sent home after being interrogated by the faculty members."
"Matatanggap pa kaya siya ng family niya? If we're related by blood, I'd deny our relation straight!"
"Same Thy, imagine, sex worker kamag-anak mo? It's just so, ew."
Tinago ko ang iritasyon na pumalibot sa akin. It's okay to shame Robbie, but sex workers? It sounds like she's generalizing all sex workers are shameful, when it's really not. They are just trying to do living. Ginagamit naman nating lahat ang katawan natin para mag-trabaho.
Ipinatong ko ang cocktail sa poolside at nagsimulang lumangoy. Gumaya na rin silang dalawa sa akin. I need to calm down my nerves.
"Ely, may boyfriend ka ba ngayon?" Thyra asked na lumitaw bigla sa harapan ko mula sa ilalim ng tubig.
Pinunasan ko ang mukha paitaas, "Wala, I'm kind of busy."
She made a 'really?-i-don't-believe-you' face, "You're busy? Not new, though. Well, we know someone who could totally fit in your ideal type. He's so tall, and handsome as hell-"
