"i'm okay."
third person povTHE CAMP
The aftermath of the attack was worse than the actual attack, as the group worked together to sort the bodies into different sections. There was a section for the bodies of the people they knew and a separate section for the unknown walkers, their bodies were going to be burned but the members of the group were going to be buried. It was hard for anyone to sleep after the nightmare that had just occurred, Dale allowed Glenn to stay in the RV with him and the Grimes family; they had wanted Isabel to join them but she kindly refused, deciding to stay with Daryl instead. It felt as though everyone had lost someone in the attack and it was hard to see a future when the people you love are not in it but they had to keep going, they couldn't give up now. Andrea hadn't left her sister's side since she died, lying next to her body for the entire night, sobbing and hoping that Amy would come back eventually.
It was sad, Amy didn't deserve to die in this way, no one did but it was the way that the world worked and they needed to move on from her death. It was the hardest thing to ask Andrea to do but she would have to stab or shoot Amy in the head so that she didn't become a walker; if she turned then she would remain a threat for the entire group and they didn't want any more disasters to happen. Daryl was making his place in the group known, not being sad for what he had to do to each of the bodies and handling his knife properly; he went down the line of dead bodies and stabbed each one in the head to ensure that they were really dead. It was up to Glenn and T-Dog to throw the bodies onto the fire, only burning the walkers that they didn't know because the others were going to be buried properly. "You can't be serious, let that girl hamstring us?" The redneck grunted as he glanced over his shoulder where the sisters were lying, he didn't trust this decision and he wanted the others to see that he was right. "The dead girl is a time-bomb."
"What do you suggest?" Rick asked, raising his eyebrow because he wondered whether Daryl would offer a new insight into this problem.
"Take the shot. Clean, in the brain from here." He pointed, closing one eye as if he was practicing the shot. "Hell, I can hit a turkey between the eyes from this distance."
Isabel scoffed at his suggestion, rolling her eyes because she should have known that Daryl would say something insensitive at the wrong moment; she quickly stepped in and snapped at him. "Have some sympathy, Daryl, she's a girl not a bird."
"Just leave her be." Lori muttered but even her words were ignored as Daryl narrowed his eyes at the girl that he had been sure would have his back but it seemed that she was switching sides quicker than he expected.
"You agree with them? You think this is the right decision for the entire group?"
She shrugged her shoulders, ignoring the way that he was glaring at her and answering as honestly as she could; knowing that all eyes were on them as it was rare for them to argue in front of everyone. "I think that Amy was Andrea's sister and she should decide what happens, when it happens and not us. We don't have that privilege."
