"an arrow in the ass"
third person povTHE CITY
The plan to get the bag of guns was weighing on everyone's minds, not too sure whether this was going to work or not because it was a big risk to take and they had put everyone in danger just by coming back to the city. The men were determined to take something back from this journey and if it wasn't going to be Merle then it needed to be the bag of guns that had been dropped by Rick when they were last here. Daryl wasn't too happy about the plan for the guns, not wanting to waste time searching for his brother but the others promised him that once they had the guns then the search for Merle could continue. Isabel was sulking with Rick and T-Dog, upset that she hadn't been trusted with the hardest part of the mission and angry that once again, she had been casted to one side. She knew that she was one of the best in the group and yet, they had forgotten about her and so she was left to do the easy work and be part of the backup team.
In the alley, Glenn led Daryl down the blocked path as he knew exactly where he was going and what he needed to do. His face was determined and his moves were poised, he wanted to prove to everyone that he was more than a pawn in their survival game, that he could lead and call the shots to this plan; he wanted to prove to them that he was a man to be trusted and getting the bag of guns was his main priority. He wasn't too worried about Merle Dixon, knowing that the redneck had managed to survive chopping his own hand off and because he didn't particularly like the guy, he wasn't rushing to go searching for him. However, he cared about Isabel and if she wanted to find the redneck then he would never disprove, he would do anything for her. Daryl held his crossbow ready to shoot if anything came their way and knelt down beside a dumpster, watching as the other man prepped himself by removing his jacket because of the heat.
"You got some balls for a Chinaman."
Glenn narrowed his eyes, ignoring the fact that he was being complimented for the first time and simply focused on the racist undertones of his words. "I'm Korean."
"Whatever." He shrugged in return, not caring about his heritage when they had bigger things to worry about.
Checking the street one more time, Glenn decided that it was safe enough to take his chance and ran out of the alley. He kept his mouth closed so that his loud breathing wouldn't give him away to the walkers that were dotted around the street but he could barely hear anything over the sound of his own heartbeat thudding inside his chest. His hands were sweaty as he placed them on the back of a car, using the vehicle to hide himself from the dead; luckily, the street seemed quieter than before and he managed to make his way around the walkers without being spotted. Meanwhile, Daryl waited in the alley just as they had discussed, hoping that the boy wouldn't take long so that they could look for Merle again but just as he was thinking about his brother, he heard footsteps behind him. Swinging his crossbow around, he pointed it directly at a teenage boy who was wearing a stained white vest.
