THE CAMP

Hidden in the mountains, the group were going about their usual activities apart from Amy who was pacing around the cars in hope of spotting her sister at some point, returning safely. Carol and Lori were busy working their way through laundry, something that Isabel would never offer her hand in because there was no way she was giving into the stereotypical female roles especially not at the end of the world. Instead, she was kneeling next to the RV, hoping to work something out with Jim to get the engine back running smoothly but it was an old machine and there wasn't much hope for it. the atmosphere was mostly calm, if you ignored the pacing of the blonde teenager, everyone else was just getting on with their own chores and spending time with their loved ones. That was until there was a sound that drew the attention of everyone in camp, possibly drawing the attention of hundreds of walkers in the area too.

Recognising the blast straight away, Isabel knew that it was a car alarm but she didn't understand why someone would be driving such a useless vehicle and why they would be heading towards camp with that thing blaring. It would put them all in danger and their camp could be completely violated because of this one mistake. Wiping her hands against her sweaty forehead, Isabel glanced up to the roof of the RV, where the old man stood and called up to him. "Dale, can you see what that is?"

"Talk to me, Dale!" Shane bellowed, increasing his speed from the tents to get to the clearing as fast as he could; as the unofficial leader, it was his job to protect everyone and he couldn't do that if there was a threat coming their way.

"I can't tell yet." Dale replied, narrowing his eyes as he lifted his binoculars up and squinted to try and spot where the noise was coming from.

"Is it them?" Amy suddenly appeared next to Isabel, her eyes frantic and hopeful as she waited to hear whether this could be her sister. "Are they back?"

"I'll be damned."

"What is it?"

He scoffed as he watched the red car racing through the mountains, knowing that it was someone from their own camp returning but didn't know who it could be. "A stolen car is my guess."

"A loud stolen car, drawing all the dead right to us." Isabel retorted, crossing her arms over her chest and glancing back to where the noise was getting closer because the car was heading straight into camp and would not receive a warm welcome.

As soon as the shiny red car came to a halt, the beaming face of Glenn stepped out but his smile was soon replaced with a panicked from when he started getting shouted at by everyone in the camp. Dale was the first to yell down from the roof of the RV, waving his hands around. "Holy crap, turn that damn thing off!"

"I don't know how!" He replied, shouting over the sound of the alarm and shrugging innocently.

Shane stepped closer to the car and waited next to the hood, putting his weight onto one leg to appear less angry. "Pop the damn hood, please."
