Sey's POV
The drive back home is short, since everyone wants to get back home. The attackers are still on the loose and no one wants to fall victim. Ursula drops me at my place and leaves , not after we watch reruns of Mean Girls together. Once she leaves, I contemplate going to the Hakim's , to talk to him. Since he's obviously upset about my splitting up with his brother. But I stop myself before I make it out the door. There's no way I'm going to make it there safely , without running into Ahim.
I sit back down on my bed and send a quick text to Hakim. I walk to the front door when Aunt Sylvia stops me.
" Sey dear , where are you going to? "
" Um..out ? " I blink at her
" Please be careful , it's getting dangerous out there. " She tells me
" Where are the twins ? " I ask
" At Ahim's. Boys and video games these days " she shrugs and I give her a reassuring smile and a quick peck to her cheeks before finally heading out. Since the twins are at Ahim's, it's a much better idea, if I don't go there. I wouldn't want to cause a scene.
I make the short walk through my territory to Sheackle, my favorite place. The silence is extremely deafening. I'm sure everyone is trying their possible best, to avoid trouble. Even Cecil and Cyril aren't out causing any trouble, giving it's a free day from school. They're definitely going to stay away from trouble in the Baron's house though. I cross the little walk way that leads to the witches territory. And soon I find myself at Sheackle.
Once again, the serenity of the environment takes my breath away. I settle down on the old rusty swing , my friends and I made ages ago and gently sway myself once it's steady. I allow my mind to drift off into oblivion. It feels like hours, of me mindlessly swinging , till I'm slightly startled. I feel hands on the ropes , stopping my movements. I don't let out a squeak , like I expect to because, I feel the warm breath of the person behind me, trailing down my neck , to my shoulder , then back up, till they sniff my hair. What the? I'm on my feet immediately, and I turn to glare at the person. I know who it is before I even turn. Because dammit! Who smells like mint and armani, this gloomy a day. If not Adrian.
" What are you doing here? " I ask him , taking a step back , the swing serving as a barrier between us.
" I came to see you " he says and shrugs his shoulders so cool-y. Then it hits me
" How did you know I'll be here?" I ask him
" Are you stalking me? " I shriek , my eyes wide. He just chuckles ,and walks around the swing to step infront of me." No! Just a hunch. And like I said, I came to see you " he says and takes a sit on the swing. He slightly parts his knees , so it looks like I'm standing in between his legs.
" Why ? " I ask , like any normal person would
" We need to talk " he raises his head slightly and looks me in the eye. My breath catches in my throat and I'm suddenly apprehensive. What the hell does he want to talk about? Does he know ? That I can't stop thinking about the last time we were at this same place? Together? About what almost happened? I begin to feel uneasy and I shift from foot to foot. A shiver runs down my spine , when I reminisce about how close ....no shit !
" What are you thinking about , Sey ?" he somehow seems to know. He's suddenly on his feet walking towards me. With every step he takes, I take one back, till I feel the hard back of a tree behind me. The same goddamn tree from last time. I want to move away, but the predatory look in his eyes stops me. His amber eyes seem to turn a shade darker. And he's close now. Just as close as last time.
