Astrid's p.o.v.

Just as I had closed my eyes preparing for the worst, something, or rather someone collided with me. The sheer force of the impact knocked me sideways and suddenly I became aware that someone had me under their arm. Through the flashes of lightning I thought I could make out miljolnir in his other hand. It was Thor. I also caught sight of another quinjet. The thunder sounded like the blow of a gigantic whip as the lightning scarred the sky repeatedly.

Then there was a dark room, no not a room, I was drowning in the dark. I struggled and struggled, vaguely aware that somewhere above me was the surface, always just out of my reach.

Suddenly the light expanded, or exploded soundlessly, and I gasped for air, reaching out to grab hold of something, anything stable.

I heard voices. Voices that were familiar, people I knew but my mind was a mess. As I fell, things were coming back to me now, not complete just little pieces of reality here and there.

Hurtling towars the ground through a terrible strom, waiting to hit the freezing ocean.

Someone tackling me sideways who came out of nowhere... Maybe Thor, i couldn't quite recall...

People were trying to hold down my arms as I desperately searched for some kind of anchor in the blinding brightness.

"No, No, you can't do this... I can't breathe!" I cried out.

My eyes snapped open and I leapt out of bed, I felt safe with my back against the wall. It was solid, real. I was so relieved to be on the ground. Before I knew what was happening, someone reached for my arm. In a split second I had them in a head lock until more people dragged me off whoever it was. Then everything  started flooding into my brain at once. I was in the medical room aboard the helicarrier, not on the ground at all. A couple of medical staff were holding me back, trying to pin me to the wall, whilst another was seeing if the guy unlucky enough to catch me by surprise was okay. Luckily it turned out he was.

The first thing I could begin to say was:
"I'm so sorry. He... He, I wasn't, I'm not fully alive, no not alive, awake." I stuttered. My mind was a mess, "what I'm trying to say is I didn't mean to do that, you caught me off guard".
"We know, don't worry. Just calm down". Says a doctor as she approaches.

He gestures to the medical staff let go my arms and led me back towards the bed.
"No, no. I'm perfectly fine, honestly i am. I just need some rest... I really am..." I protest before noticing the doctor approaching me with a syringe in her hand.
"Whoah, there's no way that you're sticking that needle In to me! There's absoloutely nothing wrong with me you cannot drug me" I shouted, thrashing around to escape the grip of the nurses as they tried in vain to hold me down again, before running for the door as soon as I slipped out of their grasp. I managed to escape easily enough, despite my ordeal I found I was still perfectly capable of evading the grip of three further medics and a guard. I slipped past the first, knocked the next off his feet, did the same to woman who approached next and struggled but managed to wriggle out of the guard's grip on my arm. I ran, I didn't know where to. I was at least thankful that this hospital gown covered everything, disgusting as it was.

Just as I turned the corner I bumped head first into none other than Tony Stark... Again. He let out a slight 'hmph' of surprise.
"You know, you really are going to have to stop doing that kiddo." He laughed after getting his breath back.
"I know," I replied, glad to see someone who didn't look so unfamiliar and scary.
"It's a good job Thor and I can fly or you guys would be at the bottom of the ocean right now..." He muttered looking distant momentarily.
"Well, thank you for saving our lives... I cannot fully articulate how grateful we are. I never want to come that close again; i'd rather not become well aquatinted with death!" I declared when I realised what he was referencing.
"Of course I accept most of the credit, but we did get a tip off..." He grinned.
I frowned and opened my mouth to ask what on earth he meant by this but before I could say anything else two of the medical staff came running towards us, thankfully they hadn't seen me yet. Tony raised an eyebrow and glanced at the horrible overall I was wearing.

"I Need to get away from them... Will you cover for me? Please? Don't let them take me back and stick sharp objects into me... It hardly encourages me to behave well." I pleaded

Tony raised his eyebrow again but turned around, picked up his brief case and pointed them in a different direction all the same as I dived behind some medical crates. As he carried on down the hallway he turned back and winked in my direction. I rolled my eyes and ran toward my dormitory. The floor felt odd; smooth and plastic under my bare feet. I shuddered slightly. It only occurred to me that it was no longer my dorm when I couldn't open the locked door.

"But if I was fired how and why am I back on the helicarrier?" I thought aloud to myself.
"Someone must have saved your life" an unfamiliar yet soothing voice next to my ear.
I whirled round to see who it was and almost died of a heart attack when I saw Loki right behind me.
"Oh my god! Get away from me... Don't freaking do that to me... Ever again!", I gasped jumping backwards slightly.
"Do what?" he aksed innocently smiling. I wanted to punch him but I knew in my current state, being short of breath and tired, it wouldn't hurt him very much. Then there was also the fact that I was not certain that I was 'super' anything and as far as I was aware only had average strength; barely enough to make a demi-god flinch.
"Scare me like that! It's creepy... Regular people don't randomly do that. Y'know creep up on people and say something weird, oh wait I forgot, you aren't a regular person at all... Now get away from me." I said coldly as I calmed down from the initial jumpscare and returned to logical thought.

"Someone is clearly having a tough day."
"You don't deserve my words Loki, I would love for them to lock you up in a dark little cell somewhere and throw away the key. They say you can live for eternity, if so that's all the better, you can sit and rot alone. I've seen your work, what you did. We all have. You are a murderer and I couldn't even read half of the names on the memorial from the battle of New York, there were so many. Do you even know what you cost us?! If you walked out in to the street, no matter how much godly strength you may possess, the people would tear you apart themselves and I would gladly watch." I spat at him, my voice so bitter and heavy with contempt that he seemed unsure of how to respond for a moment. His eyes flashed with anger.

"You are lucky I'm not really standing next to you" he hissed.
"Or you'd do what exactly? Fury seems to have you on a pretty tight leash" I retorted mockingly.
This comment clearly irritated him further, it made me happy to get to him. I wish he would be made to suffer for everything he did. Besides I'd had enough bad luck as of late without getting mixed up with Loki of all people.
"Perhaps you should be glad that you aren't really standing next to me either."
