Amy's p.o.v.

The rest of the month flew by and it was December before we knew it. I couldn't wait until Christmas and, against Fury's wishes, everyone was starting to feel in the festive spirit. Thor and Loki hadn't celebrated Christmas before of course and Fury was boring as ever, but everyone else was starting to plan presents and talking enthusiastically about parties they were going to.

Unfortunately, they also liked to talk about me and my... 'Condition'. There were a lot of rumours about all three of us which were entirely untrue because none of the other agents actually knew for sure what happened. I counted myself very lucky not to have killed someone but it did feel a little bit 'epic' to know that I had enough power to kill an immortal. It was just a shame I couldn't control any of it and not go around trying to kill people and stealing their powers.

I sighed and sat up, pulled out my headphones and decided to 'take a walk'. I didn't like thinking about things too much.

I was so busy trying to ignore some of the stares I was getting, as I walked as fast as I could down the hall, that I bumped in to Captain Rogers.

I didn't knock him over or anything but he did let out a surprised cough.

"Oh... um sorry Steve, I was in my own 'little bubble'. It's better than hearing what they have to say about me at least." I sighed.

"It's fine. I should have been looking where I was going. " he answered smiling.

He was always so polite. He had apologised for something that wasn't even his fault.

"And I could have a word with Julie if you like, I know she's the one who started all this bad talk about you guys..."

"thanks very much for the offer but I doubt that would really make much of a difference; most of them believe the rumors now. But i'm not worried about reputation or whatever anyway, besides, I can handle it." I smiled, it was so nice to have someone on my side for once...

"Okay but don't ever be afraid to ask for help if you need it."

Just before I could say anything more I heard the easily recognisable voice of Tony Stark.

"Hey! Mr. Spangly get your ass over here now, Fury wants to talk!"

"Why do I put up with him?" Steve muttered shaking his head.

"Why does anyone?" I added grinning.

Steve smiled back before approaching Stark.

I was alone again. I would go and find Norman or Astrid to stop over-thinking stuff

When I couldn't locate either of them Natasha told me that Astrid had training and Norman had been sent out, along with a lot of other agents, to collect materials to rebuild Loki's cell. I was glad someone at least would talk to me. I tried asking agents who were more of my level but instead I just recieved several hateful glares and nasty comments.

I really was alone.

I decided to find a fellow loner; I decided to find Loki.

Maybe i was about to take out some of my anger on him... but I felt guilty for almost killing him and disgusted by my actions whether he was evil or not... Besides I was about to make it VERY clear that it wasn't a conscious decision to kiss him or anything. Hell no. I was going to tell him exactly how it all was and he was going to listen.

Astrid's p.o.v.

Fury's idea of training was definitely not the approach i'd have preferred to take. He was basically trying to turn me into an assassin like Clint or Natasha and it was never going to work; I won at arm wrestling and i enjoyed boxing with Steve but i wasn't ever cut out to be a highly trained agent. I had assumed he was going to get someone to teach me how to use my 'magic' not leave me to figure stuff out all by myself, but what was I expecting from him? it was becoming hard not to seriously doubt him and the decisions he made.
