Just as quickly as it started, the blonde bombshell began humming along in tune while she finished applying her makeup in the mirror.
Only a few feet away from her, lying on the freshly made lilac bedding, was Jessica Elwood, stuck in a trance as she watched her best friend smear a light gloss coat on her rosy lips.
The irony of the song certainly didn't go unnoticed by Jess, who continued staring helplessly at Chrissy tightening her ponytail and standing up from her desk chair, beginning to dance around. The lyrics encompassed her innermost thoughts as she watched her best friend enjoy herself without a care.
The way Chrissy's eyes sparkled when she was happy and how her smile always lit up a room never failed to lift the moods of everyone around her. It was her signature trait that made all who knew her fall victim to her pure radiance. Teachers would go easy on her, guys would fawn all over her, and girls just wanted to be her. She truly was the "It Girl" of Hawkins High, and Jessica was honored and proud to be her friend.
It was always them against the world considering the two were inseparable and had been so for many years.
