As the marching drums beat rhythmically, Jessica led the girls behind her in a line while the male bases and back spotter tossed Chrissy up into the air, thankfully catching her afterward. The audience cheered when she landed gracefully in their arms, and the rest of the girls continued their rehearsed choreography for a few more moments until the blonde rejoined them.

Together, the girls shook their hips from side to side in unison as they raised their pom-poms up and down. Jessica broke off from the line with another girl, and the two of them performed a few cartwheels and handsprings in front while the school mascot danced along with them, and the marching band continued their ensemble.

Up in the stands, Robin couldn't help but gawk at the way Jess moved and danced down on the court below. Her curls bounced with every step she took and the smile that was present on her face never left.

She could tell it seemed a bit forced but then again, so did everyone else's, and she didn't blame them. It would be exhausting having to dance around and stay as pumped and energetic the entire time so she had to hand it to them for their stamina and endurance. She had to hand it to Jessica for somehow managing to perform endless flips also.

The girl was talented, yet appeared to be so humble, which made her differ greatly from the rest of the high-status crowd. It was one of the many things Robin found attractive about her and respected. Even though it sounded cliché, she could tell that Jess was different from the rest of them. She didn't view herself as better than most and was overall a genuinely nice person. Robin only wished she could get to know her better on a more personal level.

With one final set of notes, the marching band ceased their sound just as the cheerleaders landed on the floor with their ending poses. At once, the now-hyped crowd erupted in applause and excitement as they stood up in their seats in anticipation.

It was Jess's moment to shine and she quickly jogged over to the well-designed banner that her cheer mates held up from both ends. It read "Hawkins Tigers, All the Way!" with the class year "86" on the side and a large yellow paw print in the center. Taking a deep breath, she readied herself and gave the signal to one of the band students who immediately gave her a drum roll.

Without further adieu, Jess took off in a short sprint directly in front of the banner before kicking off and jumping into a long series of flips. One after the other she sensed the whole world spin upside down, over and over, as her hands hit the ground one moment and her feet the next.

"And now," the announcer bellowed from somewhere in the gymnasium. "Let's hear it for your Tigers!!!"

Right on queue, Jessica landed her last flip perfectly, just as the drum roll ended and the boy's basketball team came bursting through the banner and onto the court.
