Jessica found herself slowly leaning towards Robin, unable to fight the valid part of her mind telling her not to. It wasn't the time or place, and she had to remember going forward not to get distracted. It only ever made things worse in the long run, and her past was proof of that. The longing she felt was close to overriding any sense of resistance she had left, but finally, she managed to back away from Robin with a slight clearing of her throat.

"So," she breathed out, turning her attention over to Nancy and unknowingly letting Robin notice the redness of her cheeks. "What is it that we're looking for?"

Robin felt her heart sink into her stomach from watching Jess fight what she could only assume were her internal desires. However, she knew that battle well and couldn't blame her for not acting on them if that was the case. She was just relieved to know that maybe Steve was right. Perhaps, she did have a chance with her after all.

Nancy's reply was one of frustration, which was only amplified once Robin and Jess questioned her more. She finally had enough of it and stood up abruptly, walking away from the machine.

"It's starting to seem like this was just a big waste of time. And you two are obviously bored. So, Robin why don't you just call Steve? I'm sure he'll pick you both up. And I mean, I'm not really in danger here, so..." She trailed off, before walking out and leaving them sitting there speechless.

Robin was the first to speak, standing up from her chair and stretching out her back. "What was that all about?" She looked over to Jess, who gave her a strange look.

"Seriously?"

"What? Bad grasp on social cues, remember?" She defended herself.

Jess smirked lightly, before glancing over to where Nancy walked away, making sure she was out of earshot. "She still has the hots for Harrington."

Robin's eyes immediately widened in disbelief. "You sure?"

"Yeah," she nodded. "When she mentioned you calling Steve it was totally a jealousy move."

"Wait, why would she--oh, shit." Robin cut herself off, realizing that what Jess was saying might've been true. It would explain the unnecessary dismissive attitude and the looks Nancy would give when Steve was around. "I gotta say something." She immediately took off after her, wanting and hoping to clear the air.

"What? No, don't bring it up!" Jess tried stopping her, following in her footsteps, and rushing down the small staircase, but it was too late.

Robin was already in the middle of rambling to Nancy about how she and Steve were just friends, "platonic with a capital P" to be exact. She mentally facepalmed herself for possibly making things worse between the two girls, but fortunately, Nancy just shrugged her off and got back to looking through the file cabinets.
