When Jessica heard her best friend, Chrissy, calling her name, she didn't think anything of it at first. That is until the blonde's voice morphed into panic and fear as she continued yelling at the brunette.

"JJ!"

"Please open your eyes!"

"I'm right here!"

Jess slowly fluttered her eyes open, thinking she must have fallen from the top of the pyramid at cheer practice again. She was met with the darkness of her own hands covering her face as tears streamed down her cheeks. It wasn't until she removed them and looked around at her surroundings that she realized she wasn't on the field or in the gymnasium. She was in the girl's locker room.

It was the night of the championship game, and she had just run off after Chrissy asked about her feelings for Robin. Only this time, she didn't run away to the parking lot after hearing the final buzzer and cheers from the crowd bouncing off the walls. Instead, she leaned against a locker and slowly slid down it until she was on the floor with her knees pulled up, crying to herself.

"JJ, look at me," Chrissy's voice rang out again, and suddenly she appeared right in front of the other cheerleader.

When she looked up at the blonde, her face turned from one of confusion to one of pure terror. Chrissy's face was pale and lifeless, and her usually bright eyes were missing, leaving nothing but blood dripping down from where they once rested. Her jaw was slack and her limbs were contorted, poking out in ways that would make your skin crawl.

"Why didn't you help me, JJ?" Chrissy asked, her voice now haunting and sinister. "I needed you."

Jess screamed out in fear, quickly trying to shuffle away from her until her back hit the door that led out into the school hallway. Instantly, she jumped to her feet and twisted the handle, escaping the locker room and shutting the door behind her. She then ran as fast as her legs could carry her down the hall, the only sound evident in the entire building being her white cheer shoes hitting the porcelain tiles beneath her.

She rounded the corner at the end of the hallway, and that's when she saw it. A large grandfather clock resting at the dead end, its wood finish wrapped in vines and cobwebs. It chimed rather loudly, over and over again, causing Jess to cover her ears.

"No, no, no, wake up!" She screamed at herself. "WAKE UP!"

Flinching awake, Jessica sat up from her place sitting on the Wheeler's couch. Her breathing was heavy and uneven as she looked around the basement in fear that she'd see the corpse of her best friend again, or be trapped in another nightmare.
