2. It's So Unlike Of Him

AUTHOR'S POV:

Eren was just sitting there, thinking about what he had to do next. Then Armin and Mikasa came with a loaf of bread. Eren looked up. He inwardly smiled looking at Armin. Suddenly he remembered that he had beaten up Armin to a pulp in his past life. He was then suddenly filled with guilt. His once straight face then turned into a sad face. Both them approached him.

"Hey Eren. I have brought a bread for you." Armin said.

"Thanks Armin." Eren replied with a straight face.

He began eating the bread. Mikasa and Armin sat beside him.

"Did you guys eat ?" Eren asked.

"Yeah Eren. Don't worry." Armin replied.

Armin and Mikasa just sat there in silence, still processing everything that had happened the day before. Eren was also in deep thoughts too.

'I can't tell Armin and Mikasa my secret just yet.... They won't believe me.... I will definitely tell them one day...' Eren thought.

The 3 of them were sitting in silence. After a few minutes, Mikasa spoke up.

"Eren. Your Dad should have returned by now. Why haven't he come yet?" Mikasa asked.

"I.... Don't know, Mikasa...."

"Hmmm..."

The 3 of them were sitting on a stair, looking at the sunset. They were admiring the beauty of the cruel world. They were sitting in silence. Eren then broke the silence and spoke up.

"The world is cruel..." Eren started, still looking at the sunset. The two of them looked at him with concern.

"But it's also... Beautiful" Eren said.

He looked at Mikasa while saying 'beautiful'.

Suddenly something clicked Armin's mind. He was so surprised just by thinking about it.

'Did he just indirectly tell Mikasa that she is beautiful ?..'

Mikasa was a bit shocked too. Eren then showed a sad smile and looked at the sunset again.

He spoke again.

"All of these happened.... Too quickly. Our peaceful days are gone now... You two are my only family left.... I am so sorry for being rude to you guys.... Can you guys.... Forgive me ?" Eren said in a sad tone.

Armin and Mikasa looked at eachother. They were so worried for Eren.

'His mother's death changed him a lot...' Both of them thought at the same time.

"Eren. Are you ok ?" Mikasa asked while putting a hand on Eren's shoulder.

"Yeah, a little bit... So, can you guys forgive me ?"

"Eren. It's ok. We are not angry at you." Armin replied, putting a hand on Eren's shoulder.

"Thanks guys..."

Silence fell upon them. Armin and Mikasa were still thinking about Eren. When the sun was completely hidden by the walls, Eren spoke up again.

"Mikasa...?"

"Hmm ?"

"Can you... Smile for me.. Please..?" Eren asked, looking at Mikasa.

Both Armin and Mikasa were surprised and Mikasa blushed a bit.

'It's so unlike of him...' Both of them thought at the same time.

'I should smile.. for him... It may comfort him.. Although, it's the first time he said something like this... ' Mikasa thought.
