6. Humanity's New Hope

AUTHOR'S POV:

After the Collosal titan destroyed the cannons, he reached out for Eren. He swung around and landed on the large arm.

'I still remember my fight with Armin's Collosal titan...' Eren thought and frowned.

The Colossal Titan shook his shoulder, causing Eren to lose his balance. With a quick maneuver, he tried to go for the nape.

'I am not going to get you now... Bertolt..'

A cloud of steam burst out before he could slice the skin.

"It burns!"

Eren held on. He let out a battle cry and pushed forward, swinging his swords. They cut through steam, revealing nothing.

'As expected...'

Eren began to fall and shot a hook into the Wall.

"Eren!" Thomas appeared above him. "Did you beat it?"

"No! It's just like five years ago! He disappeared just as suddenly as he appeared!"

Back on the Wall, Eren walked toward his comrades with slumped shoulders and also limping a bit.. "I'm sorry. I let him get away." Eren said in a sad tone.

"What are you apoiogizing for? we were so scared-" Thomas was interrupted by Connie.

"Hey!" Connie snapped. "There's no time for that! The Wall's been broken! We have to hurry and seal it before the Titans get in again!"

"What are you doing?!" A Garrison soldier appeared and they saluted him. "The Colossal Titan Response Operation is already underway! Return to HQ at once! Anyone who's come into contact with it, remember to give a report!"

"Yes, sir!" Eren replied.

"We pray for the advance team's success!" Connie said.

Eren just laid there, pretending to be in pain.

"Eren. What are you doing ?" Connie asked.

"The steams brunt my skin... I will join the battle soon... You all, go first." Eren said.

"Oh... Ok. Be careful." Thomas said.

They all left, except for Eren.

A bell rang, signaling the danger. People panicked, flooding the streets, rushing away from the oncoming danger. A little girl being carried over her father's shoulder dropped her doll. She watched with tearful eyes as it was stomped on by the crowd.

When Eren made sure that no-one was watching him, he crawled to the edge and fell to the other side of the wall.

'It's time to seal the gate....' Eren thought.

He bit down his thumb. A yellow lightning appeared, attracting everyone's attention.

"Hey! Is that the Collosal Titan again ?" A Garrison soilder shouted.

"If it is, then we are done for." Another one replied with shock.

Eren quickly went to the broken gate and started hardening his skin.

The soldiers saw Eren's titan. They were shocked.

"Titans started entering. We have to-" A Garrison soilder was interrupted when he saw that the titan sealed the gate by turning his body into stone.

Eren quickly sealed the gate and went out of his Titan's nape.

Then he used his ODM gear to got on top of the walls. He crawled to the wall to avoid being watched.
