The next morning I woke up to early. I swung my legs to the side of the bed, my eyes still closed. The only thing I care about right now is getting some coffee in my system. I got up and walked to the kitchen grabbing a coffee mug. I filled it with coffee and sat down at table. I looked at the puzzle, the complete puzzle. My grandma must have gotten up last night and finished it.
When I finished my coffee I filled my cup again and walked back to my room. I got dressed quickly and sat down on my bed grabbing my camera, scrolling through the pictures. My camera was filled with pictures of my sister at the park by our house or of her taking pictures of herself. I missed Charlotte. I shut off my camera and shoved it in my bag, before leaving for school.
I got to school so early that the doors weren't even unlocked. It was cold outside and the sun was barely rising. "Really," I said loudly. I looked through the glass door for a janitor, but I didn't see one. The doors should be opened already. I woke up a little early than I usually would, but not that damn early. "Are you trying to get into the school?" I jumped at the voice that came from behind me.
I turned and saw a girl with curly brown hair. She looked at me with a curious look. It was kind of freaking me out. I didn't hear her walk up and now she is staring at me curiously. "Yeah," It came out more of a question than an answer. She nodded before saying, "Follow me, the janitors open the side door first." She started to walk away. Where the hell did she come from? I looked around me, the parking lot only held my car.
"Wait," I yelled, noticing she was far from me. I caught up with her when she had reached the side door. Dang this girl can walk fast. I walked through the door, into the school and she stood there waiting for me. "I'm Kara by the way." She said digging into her backpack.
"I'm Scarlett, but people call me Scar," I told her, "Thanks for helping me get in." She shook her head before saying, "It's no problem. Why are you here early?" She asked, walking over to the vending machines. I watched her put the coins in the slot in a record time. "I have to meet someone." I said simply. She nodded her head, grabbing her chips from the bottom of the machine before walking off.
Okay did I say something? Am I supposed to follow her? I was about to walk away when she turned to look at me. "Come on you can hang out with me while you wait." She told me before stalking off. I had to walk at a pace between speed walking and a jog to keep up with her. Kara came to a stop sliding her back down the wall. We sat close to a window that looked out to the parking lot.
I took my gaze off of the parking lot when I heard crunching. Kara was wadding up the chip bag and shoving it into her backpack. She looked up at me smiling, pulling out a honey bun. She opened the wrapper when we heard yelling. "Kara, you will not believe of the amount of hoeing that happens in my hou-" Germany rounding the corner and stopped talking when she saw me.
Her lips curved upward to form a smile. "Hi Scar, I see you met Kara." Germany said sitting on the other wall across from us. I smiled at her, "Yeah, she helped me get into the school." I told her, looking out the window for Nick.
They started talking about Germany's parents and how they wouldn't let her do something. I really wasn't paying attention, I just wanted Nick to arrive so I could get my phone back. I looked at the girls talking; they had a strong bond that was based on respect. Kara and Germany were staring at me, what did I do? "What," I asked with a nervous laugh.
They shook their heads before Germany asked "Are you okay?" why wouldn't I be okay? "Yeah, why?" I responded to them. "You just seem distracted." Kara said pulling out a banana. "Kara, I don't see why you feel the need to eat that." Germany said pointing at the banana. Kara smiled moving the banana close to Germany's face. Germany smacked the banana out of Kara's hand. I busted out laughing, their personalities were very colorful.
