So I Met Him

Once upon a time, when the War of the Races had finally ended, there was a little elf boy named Elias. He was tall for his age and had a head of shoulder-length blond hair that shimmered in the afternoon sunlight. If it had not been for that afternoon sunlight, Elias may never have met the love of his life.

"But Mother, please, you promised me! If it was nice out and I did all of my chores, I could go outside and play until dark." 

The boy's mother gave him a long, hard look and finally said, "Oh, alright. But you must be back before it gets completely dark, understand? And don't go past the creek." With that, Elias happily dashed out of the house with his basket of things for the day.

He always went to the creek, but never ventured beyond it, as were his mother's rules. Days like this were so relaxing, times when he could just spread out on a large rock and soak up the sunshine. He unpacked his lunch and began to eat it while the sounds of the creek gurgled on. 

It was then that he heard the slow footsteps behind him. Not knowing what to do, the boy sat still for a moment until the footsteps stopped. He spun his head around, and to his surprise, say another boy his age standing there. 

"U-uh, h-hello," said the other boy with a surprised look on his face. "I was just... taking a walk through the woods, and I..." 

"Who are you?"

"Ah, um, my name is Mikeli..."
