"have you been waiting long?" wooyoung was began panicking as he slid into the open seat next to yeosang in the library. he thought he would be early, but the blonde man still beat him there.

"sorta. i like being early," yeosang shrugged. "and i wanted to scope out a good spot. the tables on the other side of the library are too drafty."

"oh okay... thanks," he'd never even considered the wind currents of the library before. "hi, by the way."

"hi," yeosang repeated flashing him a small grin. he looked nice – a leather jacket thrown over his shoulders and silver dangly earrings hanging down from his ears. wooyoung wondered if he had dressed up for their study date or if this was just an everyday outfit for him.

"ready to learn about 17th century baroque art?"

"i guess?" he couldn't have feigned enthusiasm even if he had tried. art history was his worst class. he was horrible at memorizing all of the artist names and dates. they went in one ear and straight out the other. he would be lucky to even pass.

"c'mon," yeosang scooched right up next to him. "you'll be fine wooyoung. you have the best tutor to help you out."

"i hope so," wooyoung pulled his notebooks out of his backpack and yeosang did the same.

they studied well together. yeosang was really good explaining concepts and shared some of his memorization techniques that helped wooyoung out a lot. wooyoung was minimally distracted – his mind only wandering off a couple of times. he hadn't really studied with anyone else before but having yeosang there really helped him focus.

he also didn't mind when yeosang's arm brushed up against his when he leaned over to explain something. he enjoyed being around the other man. yeosang was serious but very very smart. almost too smart – sometimes wooyoung struggled to keep up.

when yeosang asked wooyoung to go on another date together, he of course responded with yes. it was the only reasonable answer. after all, yeosang was attractive and attentive – a better person than he could've ever imagined dating. even if the romantic feelings weren't there yet, he would sure they would come with time.

"what year did rembrandt die?

"uh," wooyoung's brain went empty. "1742?"

"1669."

wooyoung sighed and slouched down in his chair. "i'm so screwed."

"hey, no you aren't," yeosang patted him on the shoulder. "come on, let's keep working. afterwards we can go get bubble tea."

wooyoung perked up. bubble tea? yeosang already knew his weak spot – to bribe him with food. he sat back up. "alright keep quizzing me."

yeosang laughed and they got back to work.

after a while, wooyoung was so focused on his notes that he didn't realize that someone had sat down across the table from them. well, not until yeosang nudged him under the table.

"hm?" wooyoung glanced over to him, then his eyes drifted to where yeosang's gaze was fixed across the table. "oh."

"hey wooyoung."

choi san appeared like a ghost out of nowhere and had sat himself down right across from them. he had his characteristic charming smile across his lips but there was something pointed in his voice. oh god, wooyoung felt some colour rise to his cheeks.

"um hi," wooyoung responded in a soft voice, looking anywhere but right at him. "what are you doing here?"

"getting a textbook," he replied simply. "then i saw you and your friend over here, so i thought i'd come say hi."

"oh," he glanced back to his study partner who now had a weirded out look across his face. "this is yeosang. we're in the same program."

"hm right. nice to meet you," san nodded at him, though his tone of voice said that he felt it was anything but nice to be in yeosang's presence. "i'm san."

"my friend," wooyoung felt the need to clarify, eyes flicking between them.

yeosang narrowed his eyes a little at san. "nice to meet you too."

"so wooyoung, what are you two learning?"

wooyoung was about to answer but yeosang beat him to it. "art history." wooyoung was briefly startled when he felt yeosang's arm wrap tightly around his shoulder. "as much as i'd like to meet wooyoung's friends, we're actually kind of on a date here, so if you wouldn't mind..."

wooyoung stared down at the table. what the hell is happening here?

san's jaw visibly tightened, his eyes stuck to the arm yeosang had around wooyoung. "a date, huh?"

"yea..." wooyoung confirmed quietly.

there was an awkward silence for a moment before san continued. "well...i guess i should head off then," he paused. "i'll see you tomorrow wooyoung."

"tomorrow?" wooyoung furrowed his brow. tomorrow- "oh, right!"

yeosang nudged him slightly. "what are you doing tomorrow?"

"san's dropping off-" wooyoung suddenly stopped himself when he realized how it would sound to say that san was dropping off his clothes. yeosang was staring at him strangely already. "um, san's just dropping something off," he corrected himself.

"huh ok," yeosang accepted it, but was clearly still curious.

"i'll see you later," san got up slowly, eyeing the pair one last time before he left.

yeosang was quiet as they watched san walk out the library doors. he finally removed his possessive arm from wooyoung's shoulder. "geez that guy was weird."

"san's just like that," wooyoung stared at his notebook, hoping they could drop the subject.

"i think he likes you."

wooyoung took in a sharp breath. he was sure that yeosang was wrong. san didn't like him - not at all. even if he wished the man did. he sighed. if only he would stop showing up everywhere, it would be so much easier to get over him.

wooyoung turned back to his date. "trust me, he doesn't like me. we're just friends."

"i guess," yeosang finally seemed to relax a little. "that's good if he doesn't because i like you."

wooyoung flushed bright red. "y-you do?"

"yes, and i don't like to share." yeosang replied simply as if he were discussing the weather. "now do you want to go get bubble tea?"

wooyoung grinned and nodded enthusiastically. he didn't know how much more art history his brain could take.

"let's go."
