four hundred and fifty two dollars.

san tapped his stack of bills against the table then folded them into his leather wallet. it was a good night. lots of drunk people, lots of requests for private dances and most importantly, lots of tips.

still it barely made a dent in the enormous sum he needed to save, but it was something.

he hadn't fully figured out how much money he needed to save up, but he figured the amount would near the price of an incredibly expensive car or a very cheap house. tuition, rent, food, gas – it all added up to such a ridiculous amount. then double that for his sister as well.

san had made peace with the fact that he would probably have to sell at least one vital organ on the black market.

anything to cut all financial ties to his parents. the second his sister was out of there, san promised himself he would never speak to either of the two demons that conceived him ever again.

"san! there you are-"

his boss came around the corner. the guy wasn't very old for a manager. he was nice but very strict – probably managing the most well run strip club in the country. san was pretty sure that he had a real name, but everyone there just called him eden.

"aren't you taking some vacation days over the christmas holidays?" eden asked him, staring down at a notebook in his hand. "i was checking the schedule and you don't have any time off in the log."

"yeah that's right. i don't need time off."

"don't all students like to take time off during the holidays?" eden wondered aloud. "i certainly did when i was in school. you're a hard worker san. you deserve some time off."

"i'm alright."

"don't you want to visit your family?"

san shot him a look.

"right, i'm being nosy," eden realized. "none of my business."

"it's fine," san replied. he liked his boss well enough, but his family was a topic that he didn't even discuss with his closest friends. people would pity him if they knew and he couldn't imagine anything worse than that.

"alright well goodnight then." eden nodded and went back out into the club.

san shook out his sore legs and threw on his jacket. a slight glow of the orange sunrise was creeping up the horizon as he stepped out of the club. he had always loved the early mornings – the quiet, the peace.

i wonder what wooyoung is doing right now.

he almost laughed as he got into his car. sleeping, dumbass. regular people are asleep at 5am.

ever since their phone conversation a few nights prior, the lilac-haired boy kept on slithering his way into san's thoughts.

san knew he probably shouldn't have called him - he just couldn't help it. it just seemed like every moment of the day, his brain continued reminding him of the small man. san ached to hear his goofy laughter or catch the soft gaze of his mesmirizing chestnut eyes. there was an unfamiliar feeling in that had been settling into the pit of his stomach. a sort of longing. san missed him.

but it has to stop, san told himself. it wasn't fair to wooyoung. he was choi san after all – he just didn't do relationships, and he certainly couldn't keep stringing the boy along.
