<Y/n's Pov>

New York Institute, Upper East side Manhattan

Tuesday, 01:39 p.m

"Hello Sweetpea." He greeted, his voice as smooth as silk.

"Wait, wait... Magnus? What are you doing here?" My mind felt cloudy, as if I couldn't see anything right anymore.

"Yes Y/n, I'm a warlock." my face dropped at his words, i took a couple steps away from him as if he had struck me.

"Did you know?" I croaked, my head ached from all this new information.

"No of course I didn't know you were a shadow hunter Y/n. If I had I would have taken you to the clave and you would have been brought to the Institute a lot sooner. But since I thought you were a mundane I couldn't have you living with me in case you saw what i am and I couldn't help you with my magic as that is against the accords." Magnus explained and I just shook my head ever so slightly.

"Oh my god." I mumbled, running a hand through my hair and pressing my palms to my eyes.

"I think that's enough for today. Just let her think." Jace chimed in, I had forgotten he had been sat there, watching this shit show unravel.

"Jace, I don't think-" Hodge bagan but I felt like my chest was on fire.

"I would like to go back to my room please." I looked from Hodge to Jace, "please." Jace stood from his chair and I walked to the door, him behind me.

"Y/n- I..." Magnus said but I was gone.

Jace and I walked back down the, what seemed like endless, corridors in silence. I kept looking at my feet, going over and over again what I had just been told.

"Mamma and Dad were murdered, your being hunted by a murderer. Magnus is a warlock... Magnus is a Downworlder..." I couldn't help it... "Your in the Newyork Institute, Mamma and Dad were murdered."

Before I knew it, we had arrived back at the room.

"Thank you Wayland." I muttered and opened the door, moving to enter and he put his hand on my shoulder.

"If it makes you feel any better, you're taking this remarkably well." He said and for the first time in a while, I looked him in the eye, there was a hint of admiration in the small essence of the small smile he was giving me.

"So it seems, I feel like my world is unraveling at the seams and all I can do is watch." I said, too tired and too fed up to say it any other way.

"Would you like me to go and get Clary? You can talk to her, a little while ago, she was in this exact same position. Moving from the mundane world to the Shadow world I mean." He offered and I shook my head.

"I think I'm going to go to sleep. Good night Wayland." and I shut the door gently between us.

I sat on the bedside, clutching my head in my hands and grabbed for the vase on the bedside table and without a second thought, threw it. It shattered against the far bedroom wall, glass spraying the wooden floor.

Despite it being early afternoon and it was still light outside, I climbed into my unmade bed and my heavy eyelid closed. Letting the warm feeling of the covers fall around me and sleep carried me away.
