<Y/n's Pov>

When I tried to prop myself up, a harsh blow from a boot struck my mid section and I rolled over. Valentine's face swam into view, he was crouching beside me
"Stay down Y/n, no one is coming for you. And if they are, that cut on your leg will kill you before they get here. I promise you that." He spat, his voice laced with hatred.
I heard the harsh clatted of weapons from a distance, as if they were in another room. People were yelling and fighting, I didn't know who or why or where, so I kept my eyes trained on Valentine, I refused to let him see me afraid.
"You're wrong." I mumbled, my voice breathless, "They are coming, they're going to kill you..." I said, pressing a hand to my still bleeding leg, my vision was almost swimming with black.
"Yes, maybe I shall die someday." He contemplated, his voice alarmingly flat, "but you shall never see that day my dear." He smirked and raised his sword, he lifted the blade high above his head in order to get enough power for a killing blow.
I willed myself to move, roll, shuffle out the way but I was too weak, too stiff and too tired to do anything else but lie and wait. But the blow never came.
I pried my eyes open and saw an arrow had pierced Valentine's sleeve, blade in hand, to the wall behind him. I couldn't turn but I knew, I knew very well who's arrow that was.
Valentine pulled the arrow from his jacket and ran to the window on the far left side, another arrow was fired and skimmed his jacket before Valentine jumped, landing in the river. I heard him hit the water.
"Jace!" I heard Alec yell, I sighed, my eyes falling closed, I could feel my body crumbling as any traces of life abandoned me so heartlessly.
"Y/n!" Someone shouted and I felt arms encase around me.
There was a sudden burning sensation in my left arm and my eyes opened. They were wide and taking in everything, clutching to the surroundings as if I may never see them and my eyes landed on the people standing around me, above me and beside me. I was in Jace's arms.
"Y/n." He breathed and pulled me in, his arms shielding me. A pure sensation of elation ran through my veins and the sweet shining star returned to my eyes. I felt a warm smile paint itself across my features, and the world itself seemed to gain it's color and magic
"For an angel, you look a lot like this boy I know." I joked and Jace pulled away, he gripped his stele, he had healed my wounds with the small wave of the instrument. "I'm so sorry Jace." I breathed and pulled him in for a hug, savoring the embrace.
"I thought I lost you." He said into my hair.
He was here, my Wayland, who's every action turned my heart to gold. My relieved and love-stricken face matched his as if it were a mere reflection in some heavenly lake.
"I'm sorry you ever thought that... I love you Wayland." I muttered and he smiled softly and he leaned in.
"I love you too Cartwright."
