Chapter 2: The Night Fury

After the rade, the Vikings of Berk were summoned to a meeting in the Great Hall in order to discuss their next move on the war against dragons "Either we finish them or they'll finish us" Stoick said to everyone "It's the only way we'll get rid of them" he finished slamming his hand on the table

"If we find and destroy the nest, they'll find another home" Stoick said, in front of him there was a map of the archipelago and in and there was a foggy part where the nest was rumored to be

Stoick took a knife and plunged it in that part of the map "One more search before the ice sets in!" Stoick said "Those ships never come back" A Viking protested

"We are Vikings it's an occupational hazard! Now who is with me?" Stoick said proudly but no one spoke up, an awkward silence took over for a few seconds until Stoick decided to break it "All right those who stay will look after Hiccup"

Right after Stoick offer/ threat the Vikings, everyone raised their hands meaning that they would go with him

"Now that's more like it" Stoick said, when everyone left Stoick walked up where Gobber was to speak with him

"I'll pack my undies" Gobber said getting up ready to leave "No I need you to stay here and train new recruits" Stoick said

"You know it's a good idea Blake will finally know how to fight dragons, in all this time he never fought with one, however while me and Blake are occupied Hiccup can cover the stall, molten steel, razor sharp blades, lots of time for himself, what could possibly go wrong?" Gobber said sarcastically the part about Hiccup

"What you propose to do with him, Gobber?" Stoick asked wanting the advice of his friend

"Put him in training" Gobber suggested instantly "No, I'm serious" Stoick said not wanting to put Hiccup in danger "So am I" Gobber said

"He'll be killed before you let the first dragon out of its cage" Stoick argument

"Oh, you don't know that" Gobber said taking a sip of his drink "I do actually" Stoick said "No you don't" Gobber said "Yes, I do" Stoick repeated stubbornly "No you don't" Gobber said again

"You know how he's like He doesn't listen, he has the attention of a sparrow I take him fishing and he goes hunting for trolls" Stoick said

"Trolls exist they steal your socks! But only the left ones What's with that? Gobber said

"When I was a boy- "Stoick started "Here we go again" Gobber said but Stoick didn't listen or he ignored it

"My father told me to bash my head against a rock" Stoick continued "And I did it, I thought he was crazy but I did anyway and you know what happened?"

"You got a headache" Gobber said sarcastically

"That rock split in two, it thought me what a Viking can do, Gobber, crush mountains, level forest, tame seas! Even as a boy I knew what I had to become and... Hiccup is not that boy" Stoick ended

"You can't stop him Stoick you can only prepare him I know it seems hopeless but the truth is you won't be always there to protect him he's going to get out there again he's probably outside now with Blake!" Gobber said

"What about him Gobber? has he remembered something that can tell us from where he is?" Stoick asked with curiosity

"No, I'm sorry, three months have passed and nothing has come back to him however you can always give him the official welcome to Berk that way he'll be an official member of our tribe" Gobber said
