Chapter 14

Here you are my lovelies. Lol I thought I would try that intro out. Um and to The_dream_eater I hope you have gotten past the ep Silence in the library this chapter has a few Spoilers in it. (Haha see what I did there)

"River?" The Doctor said in surprise.

"River?" I repeated.

"Yes, that's my name sweetie don't wear it out." She walked past and kissed him on the cheek.

"Why are you here?" He asked her, not even noticing the kiss.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"His wife." She replied.

Ok something just blew up inside my brain.

"I have been watching you two recently." She continued.

"And I have noticed something interesting about the new one."

Crap. Wait did she just call me the new one?

"Yeah I have too." The Doctor said.

Double crap.

"And what's that?" She asked.

Crap crap crap crap crap crap.

"She is a friend of mines daughter and she is just like her father craves danger." He said.

A wave of relief went over me.

"I found something different."

Wave over.

"I have noticed she has been looking at you in ways that only I have the right as your wife can use." She said.

The word wife cut through me but i got over it and tried to put on my best okay-she-is-weird face.

"She's 15 River, I'm over 900 years old why in the world would she be doing that?" He defended.

"Because everyone does." She said then started pacing.

"River, as your husband I devote my love to you. Even if this was true I wouldn't let it ruin things between us."

"It's okay, the real reason I came here is to tell you where I'm going I thought this would be funny. Hopefully not causing another paradox." She laughed.

"You remember when you first met me?" She asked.

"Yes." He said I saw in his eyes looks of pain. Dang it I was looking at him in all the wrong ways.

"Well I'm going to go keep that routine right now." She said.

The doctor opened his mouth to say something but then closed it again.

"What is it sweetie?" She asked.

"Nothing I just thought it was funny, you do look exactly like you did that day and now I know why." He covered his pain.

"Yes now you know. I must go get the suits on to go to the Library." She said.

"Wait River." He said walking towards her.

"Wha-"

He kissed her, like a newlywed would.

I sat down and looked away awkwardly until I heard her say,

"Well, I love you too Sweetie."

"Goodbye." He said.

"You act as if you will never see me again." She started laughing. He did too but not very happily.

When she was gone he sat down and put his head in his hands. I dared to say what's wrong.

He told me the story of a creature named the Vashta Nerada and how River dies on the trip she just left for.

"Why didn't you stop her?" I asked.

"Because that would be creating a paradox, we both would end up dead and the universe would rip open, again." He explained.

"Oh. I'm sorry." I said. I forgot all of my jealousy and comforted him until we were off again.
