They've had warned him of the danger, so he had to be careful, but when she got close he could tell she knew what she was doing. It's just that she's a professional, she can finish the job without hesitation and he knew it too. If she cast her eyes on his, he would be hypnotized for God knows how long.
"Hey! Keep your boy's eyes off of my girl." Ronald scolded, wrapping his hands in white bandages. Anna just looked at him with her arms crossed a smirk and an eyebrow raised.
"Really?" She asked, seeing the man with a frown still.
"What? I'm trying to protect you!" He exclaimed, making her snort.
"Cody! Pay attention for both our sakes!" Monica called Cody once more.
"I'm starting to regret this" He thought as he rolled his eyes and looked back at Monica. But the problem was that Anna is to enthralling and interesting to his sight he couldn't get it off of her, her actions were like a glue and his eyes their target.
"Again, kick, punch, down, back." She said, as she put herself in position. The loud music didn't let him think either, but he had asked for it as an excuse before, so there was nothing he could say now.
He kicked highly on her hand, but aiming to her face therefore not enough, she caught his foot and threw it away, being patient to remark what she had said before. If he wanted to kick higher his right foot had to be on the floor, almost planted, and he had to bend his knee to kick, instead he drew it back, taking the momentum from himself. He punched her with his left hand, but she caught it again.
Now it was her turn, but he didn't got down quick enough, instead he fell back and she punched him. "I told you down not back!" She whined, "Again." Monica gave him time to recover and put himself in position before punching again, now he did got down, she drew her arm back and punched him sideways, to which he backed away. "Better."
"Thanks"
They kept doing the same routine about five more times, before they decided to take a short break for water. Opportunity that Anna used, "Can I take a break too?" she breathe out.
"Sure" Ronald nodded.
Anna walked towards him and sipped some water. Before Cody could say anything, she cut him. "You have questions, I know, ask me now because they're gonna call us in—"
"Annie!" Ronald said, "Cody." Monica called, making Cody roll his eyes and the girl close her eyes, turning with a red face.
"Sorry" She mouthed, waving, he did the same and went back to their training.
"I want you to kick until you get to my face" She instructed, to which Cody nodded.
"No, this is dumb, I have the right to ask questions." He reasoned, then looked at her, she was clearly bored of what he was making her do, which was just very followed punches on his gloves. "Annie I have questions."
"Focus Cody" Monica scolded, but he didn't care.
"I am focused! But don't you think that at some point we could be doing close combat our minds should be active as well?" He asked mockingly, Monica thought for a moment, he wasn't absolutely wrong. They did had to know how to control their mouths and minds while fighting after all.
"Fine, if you allow it I'll allow it." She said, looking back as he kept kicking, punching and dodging.
"Fine" Ronald answered.
"Who are your real parents?" He asked straight forward, knowing that she wouldn't pay attention to the question so much, but to her aim.
"Daphne Butler and Jake Eaton." Anna responded, punching Ronald on the gloves.
