Celestine and Harry didn't expect their lives would be in danger buying clothes for Celestine herself, but they also didn't expect that the creature attacking them could have passed as a cat in a freakish Halloween costume if it weren't for its size.
While Harry cast spells from his wand to attack the creature, Celestine patted her clothes, continuing to ponder about the words Hecate told her last week.
"Pocket..."
So she looked in every pocket she had on her clothes, finding a knife with a bronze-coloured blade and a black handle. She took it out and stared at the creature in the eye; "Chimaera."
"The name of the creature here?" Harry inquired, proceeding to cast defensive spells as the Chimaera's dragon tail closely whipped him off the place.
Celestine hummed, grabbing Harry's arm as they ran from it, finding new and empty streets to battle, and probably, to die on. How noble and heroic to die on an alleyway with graffiti from paint sprays. She continued to run, calculating how to win this current "tiny" battle she had going.
She scanned the surroundings, hoping to eliminate the monster in time for dinner. Until...
"Use a protection charm on me." Celestine spoke to Harry and shoved him behind her. "I'm going in."
"But-" Harry protested until he saw her holding the knife, staring at the Chimaera so terrifyingly that he didn't question any further and obeyed. As he cast the spells on her, she sprinted toward the Chimaera and fought offensively while the monster was now on the defence.
The Chimaera put up a fight: flipping its tail toward Celestine as she attempted to stab it. She was still figuring out how this was like instinct, continuing to run and having an idea to aim in between the monster's lion-like eyes.
Just as she was about to succeed, the Chimaera flipped its tail once more towards Harry, causing him to land towards the brick wall and cough up blood.
Something stirred in Celestine; Harry was simply a boy she met a day ago, but he took care of her, almost like a sister after he found her in the dumpster. So it wasn't surprising when she screamed and pursued after the Chimaera, stepping on its goat-like body before managing to stab it in between the eyes a dozen times before golden blood spilt out and the monster sank to the ground until all that was left was a golden puddle.
"Harry," Celestine pulled her dark hair back, smearing it with the golden blood as she helped Harry up and gave him water to drink. "does it hurt?"
"What do you think?" Harry coughed up more blood before drinking more water and spitting out the blood.
"Just asking, damn." She stored the knife back in her clothes pocket. "Now let's go back."
That night, Harry and Celestine had a somewhat decent sleep.
