"Get him to fall in love with you?" Tikki repeated in disbelief. "I do not agree with this, Marinette. In fact, I think it's even worse than him being in love with Ladybug!"
"No, it's not. At least this way he'll actually know who he's in love with. Besides, that'll mean he won't have to give up his miraculous!" Marinette smiled nervously, thoughts of how she was going to do this was beginning to confuse her.
"If you think it's a good idea...", Tikki agreed, but still not 100% with her idea. "But, how are you planning on getting him to fall for you? He's deeply in love with Ladybug AND do I have to mention that you're not in love with him?"
Marinette tapped her chin. "Well, it's a good thing that I also happen to be Ladybug", she winked. "And, yes, I know I'm not in love with him but I'll pretend to be. I've gotten pretty good at lying."
Tikki glanced at her disapprovingly. "So, you're going to fake your feelings for him while his could turn out to be real?"
"Tikki, I'm doing this for him. All of this is for him. I need him to keep his miraculous. And this is the only option I have left", Marinette explained seriously, determined to follow through with her plans. "I know it won't be easy, believe me. That whole speech he just gave me made me realize how hard this was going to be, but there doesn't seem like there's any other options."
Tikki thought for a moment. "Hmmm, okay. We can start by showing him how smart you are. He mentioned in his speech how he loves how smart Ladybug is."
"Good idea, Tikki! I'll just have to take what he loves most about Ladybug and use that to get him to fall in love with Marinette!"

"Good morning, princess! How we fee-line today?" Chat Noir swooped in, waking Marinette up.
Marinette was about to yell at him, but remembered what she was trying to do. "And good morning to you too, kitty", she winked.
Chat Noir's smile faded and was replaced by confusion. He expected her to yell at him or to be annoyed.
"Anyways", Chat Noir began, sitting down. "Anything you need me to do?"
"Not really. I mean I was going to read.....science books", Marinette said awkwardly. Even she was confused why she came up with that.
"Science books?" Chat Noir questioned. "During summer?"
"You can never know too much", Marinette fake laughed. She really hated pretending to flirt with him, even though it wasn't really flirting.
Chat Noir backed away slightly, kind of afraid of her weirdness. "Umm, okay. Well, I can get if for you if you want."
"No, that's fine. It's just up here on my shelf behind me", Marinette tilted her head back to gesture the shelf.
"So, you don't need anything?" Chat Noir questioned confusingly.
"Uhhh...water would be nice", Marinette smiled awkwardly.
"Okay, I'll be back", Chat Noir almost seemed to speed out of the room. The awkwardness was so thick in that room, you could almost see it.
"Tikki!" Marinette's hands flew to her face in frustration. "What the actual hell was that? 'Science books', what the hell was I thinking? Of course he's never going to fall in love with me when I'm unnatural about this."
"Let's try something different. What else did he say to describe Ladybug?"
"He said she's funny", Marinette bit her lip. "But I have no idea how I- Ladybug is funny. I just yell at him all the time."
"Make cat puns", Tikki suggested.
"Okay I'll try-", Marinette shut herself up when she heard the door open and caught a glimpse of Chat Noir coming back in her room.
"Here's your water", Chat handed the water to her and sat down next to her. "Anything else for, today?"
"Hmm... I'm fee-line a movie. What do ya say?" Marinette smirked.
Chat Noir raised his eyebrows, somewhat amused. A small smirk creeping on his face. "I'm fee-line a movie too.
"Purrrfect", Marinette gritted her teeth, faking a smile.
Chat Noir let out a small chuckle. "Alright, then."
"Although...maybe we can actually go to the movie theater. You know, just the two of us", Marinette smiled sweetly, almost gagging.
Chat Noir furrowed his eyebrows. "Uhhh....aren't you supposed to be on bedrest?"
"Nope, I'm great. Let's go", Marinette swiftly grabbed his arm and attempted to drag him out through the trap door. For a little, he didn't argue nor try to stop her. "Alright, now take us there on your stick."
Chat Noir shut his eyes in confusion and held both of his arms up in defense. "Wait, h-hold on. What is up with you today? You know that you can't handle the travel from here to the movies on my stick. Look at you, I can tell you're still in pain."
Marinette let out a sigh. "Fine, then you pick a movie for us to watch here-"
"Marinette, wait", Chat Noir stopped her. Marinette turned back around and waited for his next words. "What's up with you?"
"What are you talking about?" Marinette played dumb.
"Why all of a sudden are you making cat puns instead of yelling at me? Why are you asking me to watch a movie with you instead of telling me to get out? Why are you so urgent to go to the movies, 'just the two of us'"? Chat Noir interrogated her.
"Wouldn't you be urgent to leave if you were on bedrest?" Marinette folded her arms.
"Well...yeah. But that still doesn't explain why you're suddenly being nice to me."
"I- uh...I..felt bad because I thought I was mean to you before. I've had a change of heart and am willing to be nicer to you", Marinette lied.
Chat Noir laughed. "You don't have to feel bad. I can take it. Plus, what you consider mean is not mean at all."
"Wait a minute", Marinette placed her hands on her hips and narrowed her eyes. "Now, that's a complete lie. I can be mean."
Chat Noir folded his arms and tilted his head. "Mmmmm, no you can't."
Marinette laughed in a scoffing way. "What are you talking about? I tell you to shut up all the time, to get out, I roll my eyes at you-"
"That was more joking around than being mean", Chat Noir laughed.
"Do you want me to be mean or something?" Marinette questioned.
"No, but I'm just telling you that you aren't mean, that's all", Chat Noir gave a small smile and shrugged. "Besides, I don't think Marinette Dupain-Cheng could ever be considered 'mean'", a larger smile spread across his face as he nudged her. Marinette couldn't help but smile back, a warm feeling flooding through her chest.
