For a moment, Marinette sunk into the kiss. Her hands wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer.

That is, before realizing who she was kissing. When realization hit her, she backed away. "Wait."

"Yes, princess?" Chat glanced up at her, smirking, but you could tell by his hoarse voice and his expression how tired he was.

"Do you even know what you're doing right now?" Marinette whispered, a small smile appearing on her face.

Chat Noir's eyes darted around the room, a smile appearing on his face as well. "Not really."

They both join in a small, sweet laugh together before Marinette remembered what exactly just happened. And, how she let it happen.

"Chat, why did you kiss me?" Marinette let the seriousness rush through and the silly part wash out for their upcoming conversation.

Chat sighed, stood up and placed his hands on his face. "What do you want me to say?"

"Do you not know what to say?" Marinette's eyes followed him back and forth as he paced the room.

"No, I mean, I was surprised myself that I did that", he stopped for a moment to look at her before pacing again. "Look, Marinette. I'm really sorry. I know I shouldn't have done what I did, especially without your permission. And I know this might ruin things between us, which is one of the worst realizations of my life, but...", he paused for a moment. "But I don't know what else to say."

Marinette stood up and firmly placed her feet on the ground, although he was still a lot taller. "I want you to say you kissed me because-", Marinette hesitated. She didn't know how to say these next words. She ran a hand through her hair and let out a sigh. "Because you like me."

The words seemed to knock Chat Noir back, like hearing it from her made it seem like he believed her. "And maybe.....I do."

"You..do?" Marinette narrowed her eyes in confusion.

Chat Noir was silent for a moment before he nodded. "Yeah. If that's what you want me to say."

"No", Marinette said quickly before running her hands through her hair and paced the floor. "No, no, no. I don't want you to just say it because I want you to say it. Chat do you even..."

"Do I even what?" Chat noticed her hesitation, and pushed a little further to get her words out.

"Do you even like me..I mean", Marinette asked, almost like she was out of it and it didn't seem worth it to ask him anymore.

"Marinette", Chat Noir smiled. "I just kissed you, I've saved your ass multiple times, I get worried sick about you, I stalked you on your date, and you seriously have to question that?"

Marinette shrugged. A small smile spread across her face, without her even knowing it. "Well..it'd be nice to actually hear you say it instead of dancing around the words."

"Okay, okay, okay", Chat Noir laughed, stepping closer to her. "Marinette, I like you. A lot."

Marinette narrowed her eyes as she looked in his. "I don't believe you."

Chat Noir shook his head, a smirk wide on his face. He placed one hand on the back of her neck, the other on her cheek, and slowly leaned in to kiss her again.

She didn't fight it. In fact, all that swirled through her mind was the feeling of his hands on her neck and her jaw. The best part, the tension built by the slow lean-in. When the space between them finally sealed, she wrapped her arms once again around his neck. Marinette even rose to her tip-toes to reach him better. Chat let out a small laugh when he realized that.
