"Don't take this personally, but get out", Marinette pointed toward the trapdoor, eyes half open and her pajamas still being worn.

"I have a surprise for you up at the balcony, though", Chat Noir tilted his head and gifted her with a warm smile.

Marinette rubbed her eyes and laid back down. "Chat Noir, it is 5 in the morning. There is nothing that could-"

Chat Noir opened the trapdoor and pulled on Marinette's hand to get her back up. "It'll take 2 seconds." Marinette sighed in defeat and stood up gently, Chat Noir supporting her and helping her through the trapdoor. "Okay, close your eyes."

Marinette let out a laugh. "There's no way in hell-"

"Juuuust do it", Chat Noir slightly laughed, urging her to close her eyes to await the surprise.

Marinette once again sighed in defeat and obeyed his request. She heard him close the trapdoor behind him and soon his presence was close behind her. She felt his hand reach her shoulder and his face right beside her neck.

"You can open your eyes now", he whispered in her ear, although you could almost hear him smiling from the tone in his voice.

Marinette let out a small giggle and let her eyes flutter open. The sky spread out before her, paling in a rosy hue as the sunlight lit up the scene. The sky burst with bright yellow, orange, pink colors and shaded beautifully together. The sun shone softly on Paris' streets and buildings, painting them with a golden glow. The only thing that flooded her ears was the sound of early morning birds and a light breeze traveling through her. Everything was bathed in fog as she watched the Earth awaken.

Marinette couldn't speak, no words fell out. The only thing her senses could pick up was the scene taking place around her. She walked to her balcony railing and rested her hands on the railing in front of her. Chat Noir rested his arms and his head on the railing next to her.

Chat Noir was smiling at her, watching her look at the sunrise in awe. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

"How," Marinette tried forming words. "How did you- um. Why-"

"How did I see this? Why was I up to see this?" Chat Noir laughed. "I couldn't sleep, and when I saw the sunrise, I thought you'd enjoyed it. Especially because I've noticed how upset you've been lately because you can't go out and do things."

Marinette turned to face him, a smile forming on her already bright face. "Thank you. This means a lot to me, you know."

"You're welcome", he winked before lifting his head off the railing. "So, you wanna go back to sleep now?"

"Um", Marinette looked back at the sky, which was still in the process of rising. "No, not yet. I wanna watch the rest."

"Okay. I should probably go-"

"You're leaving?" Marinette took her eyes off the sky and turned back to him, her smile faded. "Can't you stay for the rest of the sunrise? Enjoy this moment with me. You woke me up for this moment, so, you should stay."

"Okay, okay. I can stay until it's over", Chat Noir agreed.

"Why are you so urgent to leave? Do your parents wake you up at 6 in the morning or something?" Marinette asked, a small smile creeping on her face.

Chat Noir laughed. "No, no. But you never know if someone will come in and check on me and find me gone."

"Right", Marinette agreed disappointingly. "If you can't stay, you can go. I don't wanna force you to stay here when you might get in trouble."

"I don't mind", Chat Noir tried convincing her by giving her a light smile.

"I do", Marinette argued. "I don't wanna be the reason you might get punished."
