Leilani POV
2:30am
We finally pulled into my moms driveway before I got out I put my number in Glizzys phone and then got out. Glizzy grabbed my arm
"Be strong and call me if you need me" Glizzy said
I nodded and got out and shut the door. I walked towards my mama door and knocked and waited. Nobody came to the door so I kept knocking until my mama opened the door.
"Leilani?" My mama said
"Hey mama" I said shutting the door
"What are you doing here this late?" She asked
"I just needed to come over here.." I said
"Baby what's wrong?" She asked
"I-" I tried to say
That was all I could honestly say until I broke down in tears.
"Hunny what's wrong?" She asked again
"Ace-" I said
"Ace what?" She asked
"He's in a coma.." I said as tears rolled down my face
"What? Why? Is he alright?" She asked
"No and yes" I said
"How did he get into a coma? Come on let's sit in the kitchen" She said
I followed behind her to the kitchen and then sat at the island on the stool.
"Now talk to me" She said
"I was with him last night we was at his house talking and eating. I ended up falling asleep but he didn't. I woke up to my phone ringing to see Ace not around it was Glizzy his friend who was calling me, I answered and he told me to come to the hospital and when I got there he told me that Ace got hit my a drink driver and it knocked him into a coma. They don't know when he's going to wake up or how long it will take it could be years." I said as tears rolled down my face
"Oh my god baby I'm so sorry.. does he grandmother know? She must be worried sick" She asked hugging me
"No she doesn't know yet I'm pretty sure they are going to tell her in the morning" I said
"I'm sorry baby I'm so sorry. He's such a sweet boy. I'm praying for him" She said
"Thank you please do I'm praying for him too" I said
"Now tell me this and don't lie to your mama either" She said
"What?" I asked
"Are you in love with him?" She asked
"I-Be honest Leilani " She said interrupting me
"Yes.. I didn't realize it until now. I feel like it's my fault because last night we talked and I said some things and I feel like I pushed him to go out and drive and now he's in the hospital fighting for his life because of me" I said as more tears ran down my face
