Ch. 2: Natsu Is Leaving

{Natsu's POV}

I was walking around my room, feeling lonely. I looked at the window which showed the view of our large garden, the place where Lucy and I used to play. Lovely red petals from roses were scattered on the cement by the garden. There was no mistaking it, the plan must go along.

I laid down on my bed as I thought about our dream. When we all grow up, we want to be a band. Too bad though, we still haven't come up with a band name.

I shook my head so I can keep my cool. It was just 4 AM in the morning. It's still so early. There's still time. Time to bid my farewell...

My friends still don't know about this. But I will let them know about this... by writing a letter.

Dear The Circle of Eight,

Guys, it's been a fun journey with all of you. It's been six years since this circle of friendship was formed. I'm so glad I was able to meet up with friends such as you guys. We've all grown up together with such childish personalities. Everyday, we played. We didn't care on where and when we played. As long as we're still playing with each other, that's all that matters.

Lucy Heartfilia, my dearest bestfriend of all time. You were always by my side ever since that fateful day at the mall, where I got lost, seven years ago. You were my very first friend that time. A friend that is a girl, not a boy. When I met you at the mall, we became friends immediately. We were so close with each other, that we fought just once. Remember the reason why we fought? It was just because of that one bar of Dairy Milk chocolate! Eventually, we learned that we must just share food. It was a stupid reason for us to fight.

Gray Fullbuster. Hi stripper! You know what, the first time I saw you, I disliked you already. I don't know why. Maybe because we're the opposites? Despite our differences though, we still became friends. I still dislike your personality though. Put that in your head, my frienemy and brother. Remember the accident where you felt so hot one summer that you stripped? It was then that you became a stripper! What, trying to impress girls? I hope you fail with your mission.

Juvia Lockser, you're the weirdest woman I've ever met in my life. And I hate weird people. But still though, you became my friend. I don't even know how we became friends! Kidding. You're cheerful, but sometimes do and say strange things. I hope you keep it up and we’ll still remain friends after my insult.

Jellal Fernandes, yo man. I've always admired you for being so calm and chill. For that reason, I give you an imaginary gold medal. Anyways, I wanna find the reason as to why you're so carefree. I like you, man. Hey, you know not in a romantic way. Of course in a friendly way! You go, man. Keep it up. And also, I’ll keep our little secret in mind hehe.

Erza Scarlet, you're the scariest girl I have ever met in my whole life. You give me disturbing nightmares. I would certainly never forget you. You're a sadist, you know that? Why can't you be a timid and gentle one? It could be nice once in a while. Even though you're scary, thanks for being my friend when I'm in need.

Gajeel Redfox, you're next to Gray who is so annoying. You don't like to speak that much, which is good, but when you speak, I can feel myself exploding because of your choice of words. No offense man. I mean, I’d ask you a question, but then you make it complicated! Thanks for being my friend, though. Cut off that long, spiky hair of yours, okay? I wanna see it short when I see you soon.

Levy McGarden, just like Gajeel, you don't like to speak that much. I hope, for once, you'd speak long. Anyways, thank you for being the girl bestfriend to Lucy. I hope that Erza would be like you: timid and gentle. I hope that when I see you soon, you will be talkative. Wish we’ll remain friends just like everyone else.

So guys, I am saying that I will be leaving. The business of my parents have been corrupted, so we have to move to some place where I could study. I am not sure if we could still communicate, but I'll still try. I hope that when I get back, we could still play just like little kids.

I hope that you guys will stick up together until I come back. I hope I made you all happy with just my presence. Wish you all the luck in the world.

Writing things this long is unusual for me. I'm sorry if I made you cry. Be happy! The circle of eight must be forever!

P.S. BE BACK IN 5 YEARS

Putting down my pen, I sighed. I'm not the kind of person who likes to think too much about things. Crying is not a thing of mine, too. I've always been a cheerful person all my life. I must not cry, right? After all, I know we'll still meet again.

My train of thoughts were interrupted when I heard a knock on the door. "Natsu, come now. You're already eleven years old so I think you're not playing in there," I heard mom exclaim from outside my door. I bit my lip, hauling along my bag full of clothes and memories from my friends.

I stopped for a moment and took one last look at my room. I opened my bag and brought out a picture frame of all of us with silly grins on our faces. I’d miss this guys so much. I know they’re not perfect, but friends are friends. True friends accept your flaws.

I felt a tear escape my eye. Sorry, but I can't help it anymore. My presence will be gone for a long time, you know.

As I was going out the door, I thought: "I'll miss you very much, guys. I shall come back after five years. Just wait for me." I then wiped my tear.

Leaving my friends will be hard. But for now, I mustn't cry. If Gray and Gajeel witnessed me like this, they would be laughing like there was no tomorrow.
