My situation’s not going well but here’s an update... Hiro Mashima’s got more in store for us this year.

{Levy’s POV}
“New Year?”
December 29. That was the date today, and New Year is coming. Everyone’s been excited about it that you could already hear the sound of crackling fireworks and people laughing everywhere around. Christmas passed, and now it’s time to look forward to New Year.
Everyone’s gotten so happy after they had received their gifts, and I’m included. All of us had nine gifts, plus the gifts the people had given us on our Christmas Party. The nine of us were actually surprised that Natsu hadn’t forgotten to buy our gifts, and get this: He shopped himself. We told him that and we all received glares as our second present.
“It feels like we haven’t celebrated New Year for a long time.” Erza sighed with a weird smile on her face that we were used to seeing.
“That’s because we haven’t celebrated it for a few years.” Jellal’s voice seemed annoyed but I hinted something with that tone of his. I made a mental note that I’d inquire him about that later.
Lucy smiled. She had a good morning, huh? Well good for her. “I’m happy there’s no hatred in our hearts now.”
Gajeel rolled his eyes playfully. “But we’ve got another problem in hand.” I knew what he was talking about, though the six of them looked very confused. We’ve talked about it when we were going home from my gig wherein Gajeel gave me flowers for some unknown reason. I blushed at the thought.
Gajeel was actually pertaining to the six of them possibly falling in love with each other. There were different couple names we were aware about like NaLu obviously pertaining to Natsu and Lucy, GrUvia which was the combined name of Gray and Juvia and JeRza from Jellal and Erza. I wouldn’t try to forget Gajeel and mine’s couple name which was GaLe. The Eight Members are already aware of the couple names, but I’m surprised no awkward atmosphere came around.
So anyway, that’s the real problem. If the Eight Members had fallen in love with each other, it would be a big problem. Sure, there’s nothing wrong with falling in love, but it might ruin our careers and friendship. We’re afraid of that event, but right now, I think that’s not yet happening...
“Hey guys!” Mavis came in the kitchen with Zeref trailing behind. “Zeref and I wouldn’t be spending the new year with you guys. Sad, but yeah. We need some time alone.”
“But you always have some time alone.” Natsu scoffed, putting a yellow beanie in his head.
Lucy grabbed it and put it on her head. “Couldn’t agree more.” Her brown eyes twinkled for some reason, her lips twitching probably to prevent herself from smiling. With a little smile on my face, I snatched the beanie from her and put it on my own. It felt comforting and I sighed.
The smile turned into a frown when Gajeel took the beanie from me. He was trying to piss me off, and it definitely worked. He gave me a mocking grin and I just rolled my eyes, face a little flushed.
Then again, Erza grabbed the beanie, then Jellal, then Juvia, then Gray. The bickering started.
They are not my friends.

“What have you done to my strawberry cake!?” Erza demanded answers from Gray and Natsu as they bowed, scared that their lives might get taken away in a matter of seconds. Jellal passed by, not noticing the cake that was splattered on the floor. He stepped on it and a squishing sound echoed in the room. Erza almost screamed like someone was killed before her eyes. “My poor strawberry cake! Unforgivable crime!” Jellal stared at her like she was some kind of a living hotdog. Erza glared at the three boys. “I will give my cake justice.” And he whacked their heads with her bare knuckles.
