{Lucy's POV}
I woke up with a big grin on my face. The sun was shining brightly, and it was almost blinding me. Something tells me this is gonna be a good day.
Suddenly, I had this sudden urge that I must meet Natsu-kun. I don't know why but I can't drop the "kun" on his name.
I shook Levy, Erza, and Juvia awake who were still sleeping on my bed. The girls decided to have a sleepover at my house. I know we're still eleven year olds, but we're just this close. Best friends.
"Guys, wake up. Something tells me we must pay Natsu-kun a surprise visit. But first, let's go to Jellal, Gray and Gajeel's house." Erza groaned. Doesn't look like she really wants to wake up. Juvia opened an eye. Levy, though, did not move an inch. I frowned, tempted to smash their faces with the pillows. Lazy ones.
Since they don't wanna wake up, I grabbed the megaphone beside my bed. Just in case of emergency I had a megaphone. At least I’m ready. "Waaaaake uuuuuup!!!!" I think mother, father, and my neighbors woke up with that loud, small voice of mine, but I don't care. At least these three are already fully awake. But the fact that mom was going to reprimand me for my behavior was scaring me.
Erza, Levy, and Juvia glared at me. So scary! "Look, you don't wanna wake up so I have to do it by force." I shrugged nervously, looking everywhere but them.
"Alright, alright. We're awake now." Juvia replied groggily, standing up while holding her pillow given by Gray on her seventh birthday.
Erza and Levy followed, so I just went to Jellal’s place myself.
I pressed the doorbell. It was Jellal's mom that opened the door. "Oh, it's you, Lucy. Do you need anything?"
I scratched my head sheepishly. "Uhm, I just need to talk to Jellal."
"Go wake him up. He didn’t want to be disturbed last night because he was playing blocks. I hope he still managed to get some sleep." His mother let me in and so I ran upstairs right away.
"Hey sleepyhead, rise and shine! We're going to Natsu's house!"
He groggily rubbed his eyes and asked, "Why? Is there an emergency?" He questioned sleepily with an eye open.
"Just quit asking." I pulled him towards our house even though he's still in his pajamas. I saw Gray and Gajeel there.
"Come now," I motioned them to follow me.
They were stunned to see that the gate was opened. They entered the house only to see no one inside. I frowned. I always know that Natsu will never go to somewhere far without telling me.
I ran to his room and when I opened it, I saw a letter. The others were peering behind me, wondering what the letter was all about.
After reading the letter, all of them cried. Especially me. I can't stop the tears from falling. I missed my bestfriend already. I was not used to this. I always see Natsu. Everyone around me is probably thinking that this event might cause me trauma and great nostalgia. Or maybe they were just overreacting.
"That ugly jerk. Frienemy he was. But then he left me—us!" Gray growled, struggling to not let his tears fall. Too bad, a moment later, it fell down.
I wiped my tears, "We musn't cry. He's still coming back, right?" I bit my lip. I hope what I'm saying is calming everyone down. I hope that after this, we will not cry again.
*-*-*-*-
"Hm, I wonder where Gray is. I'm now worried about him." Juvia said, worry written all over her face.
"Calm down, Juvia." Erza told her with a chill aura surrounding her. "Gray is already a twelve year old boy. Next year we're gonna be in middle school. He can handle himself.
"Yeah." Levy smiled at Juvia. Finally then, her worries perished.
So yes, it's been a year since Natsu left. I'm still looking forward on meeting him again. The countdown is still ongoing. Four more years and he's coming back. Come on, Natsu. I'm still waiting for you. We are still waiting for you to come back.
I chimed in on the conversation of Levy, Jellal, Gajeel, Juvia and Erza. We had so much fun chatting with each other until I noticed that Gray hasn't arrived yet.
I looked at my wristwatch and gasped. It's been an hour and a half since he was gone! What could've happened!?
"Guys, something tells me we must find Gray."
"Lucy, I said he can handle himself."
"No, Erza," Juvia finally noticed it. "He's been gone for an hour and a half already. Something must've happened."
Erza sighed in defeat and stood up. "Alright. Let's go."
We went to Gray's house and saw a note pasted on their gate. There was no mistaking it. It was the sloppy handwriting of Gray.
I'm leaving. Don't find me because you will never succeed.
-Gray
I fell on my knees. I felt weak. I don't have the strength to speak up anymore. My tears won't show up. I'm tired of crying already.
"First Natsu, and now it's Gray!?" Jellal said in an angry voice. "Damn it all!" It was the first time I saw him lose composure and be mad. The first time I heard him curse.
Why, Gray? Why did you leave us?
I looked around me and saw Gajeel with an expressionless face. It is hard for him. I know it. His face just doesn't show it.
Juvia's blubbering sound were heard all over the neighborhood. This time, it was the hardest for her. We'll make it through without Gray. We must make it through without Natsu and Gray.
The next day, I waited on our favorite playing spot: the playground. I stayed there for I don't know how long. No one came.
After that fateful day when Gray left, we six never met again. And I'm gloomy right now. This is going crazy. We can't lose the friendship just like that! It's hard to accept it!
I sat on the swing and cried for like an eternity. I can see the skies getting darker. I see. So the sky decided to give its condolence to me. Thank you for being there for me, sky.
The rain started pouring down. I don't care if I get soaking wet. I'm sad, and I want to be in the rain right now. My friends left me already. They left me too. Are they really friends?
I sobbed in the rain. It was raining cats and dogs, and it's getting cold. I need warmth.
Warmth...
I came to a sudden realization. This is all Natsu's fault. He left. Gray left. Everyone left.
Now I'm all alone. And I have this feeling in my chest that I've never felt before.
Natsu, I never bear a grudge against anyone. But because of you, I felt it. For the first time.
"Natsu Dragneel, I hate you! Never come back again! I don't wanna see your face anymore! I'm breaking this friendship of ours now!!" I screamed in the rain.
