"Sunfilter rising. Sunfilter rising." A robotic voice could be heard.
"Is the steward in there?" Jabe asked the Doctor while she let him do his thing.
"You can smell him." The Doctor told her, to which I just put my hand over my nose as if to stop the smell of burning, seared, flesh. I really didn't like it. "Hold on. There's another sunfilter programmed to descend." With that, he hopped away from the wall and ran with Jabe and I hot on his heels.
Banging against a type of glass was heard as someone yelled: "let me out! Let me out! Let me out!" I knew that voice.
"Rose!" I yelled only for us to increase our pace towards her. This felt familiar as I felt a trace of déjà vu.
"Sunfilter descending." I heard a robotic voice over and over again on repeat.
Finally we seemed to arrive at the door. The Doctor went over to the control panel and started to sonic it. "Hello...!" I seemed to bang on the door as the Doctor soniced the panel alongside it. "Rose...you in there...!"
"Emily...!" Rose panicked as she banged against the door. "Open the door!"
"Hold on, give us two ticks." The Doctor seemed to tell her as he worked at the panel.
"Sunfilter descending." I heard the robotic voice repeat and repeat. I was beginning to really dislike it. "Sunfilter rising." It seemed to change it's tune, much to my relief before I could hear it once again. "Sunfilter descending."
"Oh...it's just what I need." The Doctor told us. "The computer's getting clever."
"Stop mucking about...!" Rose told him.
"I'm not mucking about!" The Doctor replied. "It's getting smart."
"Sunfilter descending." The robotic voice spoke once more, as if it were taunting us.
"Open the door!" Rose frantically yelled.
I shook my head. Here I was...my sister was about to die and there was absolutely nothing I could do...I felt so helpless. I subconscious placed my hand along my bag, I took a deep breath as I realized what was in it. I had a sonic as well...the one Sol gave me...I just remembered about it. I quickly took it out as I stared at the door Rose was trapped behind. What to do...come on...what to do...?! I demanded of myself. Oh...setting 20...! I didn't really know what it did but I did know that it could help me.
I aimed it towards the door before I pressed the button on it, a red laser shot out of the gem before it landed on the door, mostly making burn marks. I cut it off.... "Oh...come on...!" It'll take far too long. I looked at the door, it was cutting it but the material seemed to be either too thick or too hard...or a little bit of both. It'd be great...if I wasn't running out on time.
"Where'd you get that...?" The Doctor seemed to ask me as he instantly noticed the sonic in my hand.
"Not the time!" I told him as the robotic voice kept saying 'sunfilter descending'.
Sunfilter descending.
Sunfilter descending.
Sunfilter decending.
It was driving me crazy and Rose's scream of alarm, as the Sunfilter descended even more, didn't help me in the slightest. "The lock's melted...!" Rose had panic-screamed.
The Doctor seemed to mess with the panel even more and finally I heard the robotic voice say the words: 'Sunfilter rising' over and over again on repeat. He then went over to the door. "The opening's jammed." He told Rose. "I can't open the door."
"And it'd take too long to cut a hole into." I responded as I looked at my sonic...completely useless at the moment.
"Cut a hole...?" Rose asked, questioningly. "With what...?"
