XLIII: Jackie Knows

Almost as soon as I had landed the Tardis back in the lot outside Jackie's flat, Rose almost immediately came barging through the Tardis doors. "All right, so I lied." The Doctor told Rose as he looked at the Tardis's monitor. "We went and had a look." The Doctor referred to both me and him as we had taken the Tardis without her. "The whole crash landing was a fake."

As the Doctor spoke to Rose, I realized once again...he was still speaking in Gallifreyan but Rose seem to be able to understand him as if he spoke in English. Yet...I just stood there, opposite of the console from them, not saying a word.... As if I feared that it might not translate for me should I speak as I couldn't seem to even begin to form words in English.... It was as if I'd completely forgotten...and I didn't want to have a chat with Rose about why I was suddenly speaking an alien language. I just didn't feel up to that.

"I thought it was...." The Doctor stated as he looked at Rose, referring to the spaceship's crash landing. "It's just too perfect. I mean...hitting Big Ben...? Come on...." He explained to her as he looked at the monitor. "So I though...let's go and have a look...."

"Without me...?" Rose seemed to say, as if slightly jealous.

"If it's any consolation." The Doctor told her, referring to me.. "Emily stayed on the Tardis the whole time."

Thought...definitely not by choice. I told myself.

"Very reassuring...." Rose told me, a bit sarcastically, before she faced the Tardis's doors. "My mum's here." At that, I heard the Tardis doors creak open and in walked Mickey...and Jackie.

Oh.... I told myself...dreading what else may yet follow. Was she gonna hit the Doctor again...? For taking me...? I seriously didn't know...she just might....

"Oh...that's just what I need." The Doctor seemed to state as he looked behind him at Jackie and Mickey before he looked back at Rose. "Don't you dare make this place domestic!"

"You ruined my life, Doctor." Mickey seemed to proclaim from behind him. I didn't think they could see me as the Tardis's console slightly hid me from Jackie and Mickey's view. "They thought her and Emily were dead." With that, the Doctor looked back at Mickey as Jackie looked around the Tardis...awestruck. "I was a murder suspect because of you." Mickey pointed towards him.

"See what I mean...?" The Doctor seemed to look at Rose as he spoke. "Domestic!"

"I bet you don't even remember my name." Mickey told the Doctor.

"Rickey." The Doctor stated as he turned back to Mickey.

"Mickey." Mickey shot back as Jackie seemed to finally lay her eyes on me.

"No, it's Rickey." The Doctor told Mickey.

"I think I know my own name." Mickey pointed out.

"You think you know your own name...?" The Doctor asked as I saw that Jackie's face seemed to look terrified as she took in the Tardis around her. "How stupid are you?" The Doctor asked Mickey. Jackie instantly turned around to leave the Tardis.

"Mum, don't...!" Rose called out towards the leaving Jackie. "Don't go anywhere!" She told the Doctor. "Don't start a fight." She told Mickey before she chased after Jackie. She came back inside after a second as she rushed up to the console. "That was a real spaceship...?" She then asked the Doctor.

"Yep!" The Doctor responded.

"So it was all a pack of lies." Rose told him. "What is it, then, that they're invading?"

"Funny way to invade...putting the world on red alert." Mickey seemed to tell us.

The Doctor looked at Mickey as if he grew another head. "Good point!" The Doctor told him before he went back to the monitor. "So...what're they up to?"
