MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING!!!!! SUICIDE TALK!
However, before I could find anything, Honey arrived back. She saw me desperately rummaging through our drawers, and knew immediately what I was trying to do. "Maddie!" She ran to me, threw her arms around me, and held me tightly.
"Let me go!" I sobbed. "I don't wanna be here anymore!"
"No!" she cried.
"I wanna go, please! I don't wanna hurt you anymore! Please let go!"
"I'm not leaving you!"
"Please, I know I fuck everything up! You're better off without me!"
"No!" Honey sobbed. "No, I'm not, and no, you don't! I don't care what those girls said! It's not true!"
"They said you hate me!"
"I know! I heard them from inside the bathroom. I'm sorry I didn't come out sooner, Sweetie. I would've if I could."
"No, it's fine. You didn't do anything. It's my fault. I'm a burden to you. I make your life hell."
"That's not true, Baby. Come here." She led me over to the bed, laid me down, crawled in with me, and wrapped her arms and her tail around me. "They're wrong, Sweetie. You are not ruining my life in any way."
"You don't have to stay," I wept. "You don't have to be my friend anymore if you don't want to."
"But, I do want to be your friend, Baby. I do wanna stay. You know why? Because I love you." She kissed my forehead. "I love you so much. You're my little baby."
"I feel sick," I moaned. "I need to go to the bathroom."
"Okay, Baby, but please promise me you won't try anything in there."
I hesitated. "Okay," I said as I hurried off to the bathroom to throw up and to answer the call of nature.
Just then, there was a knock on our door.
"Who is it?!" Honey called out.
"It's Kitty!"
"Come in, Sweetie!"
Kitty opened the door, and entered the room. She saw Honey standing outside the bathroom door, and immediately became worried. "I had a bad feeling," she said. "I wanted to make sure Maddie was okay."
"She's not feeling so good," Honey said. "Marissa and her friends tore into her, and said all sorts of horrible things to her."
"Oh, no. What did they say to her?"
"They tried to convince her that I hate her, and I never wanted to be her friend. She wanted to kill herself because of them."
"Awwww." Kitty burst into tears. "Our poor little baby," she sobbed.
"I know," Honey sniffled. "I've never seen her like this." She sighed heavily. "I wish I never met those girls. If I'd known they would try to hurt my babies, I–"
"No, Honey, please don't blame yourself. You couldn't have known they'd do something like this."
"But, I noticed them ignoring Maddie every time we all hung out, and I didn't say anything until I broke things off with them."
"But, you did. You tried to tell them to include Maddie. They didn't want to, so you ended things with them."
"But, I should've said something sooner."
