MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING!!!!! ABUSE & DISSOCIATION!!!!!
Even though Honey only had three months left, she was determined to make every moment count, and spend her last days making and leaving behind special mementos for her loved ones–letters, photo albums, video messages, eccetera. After receiving this devastating news after giving birth to her daughter, Sunshine Love, Honey decided to host a party in the nearby park to celebrate her life and her love of life and many blessings. We all pitched in to make sure it would be a great party. She didn't want anything too extravagant, just a get-together with good food and company. We all helped her cook and prepare food, and we booked a picnic area in the park, a beautiful spot, a flower garden with a water fountain that emptied into a gorgeous stream, a lot like the garden area outside the club where her wedding reception took place.
On the day of the picnic, we set out all the food and beverages on the table at the front of the picnic area, and the rest of the tables would be for guests. Honey made it clear that anyone was welcome to join us, because she loved people so much. To our pleasant surprise, some strangers did gather at a table or two, but Honey immediately recognized them from her solo concert. She was delighted to see them again. This was going to be an amazing afternoon! She could feel it in her heart.
"Honey, I'm so sorry to hear about your prognosis," an older lady said to her.
Honey smiled sweetly. "It's okay, Sweetheart. I'll be okay."
"You're a strong woman."
"Awww, bless you. Thank you, Sweetheart."
"Mommy, can I sit next to Honey, please?" Emily pleaded.
"Of course," Jessica replied, "if she doesn't mind."
"Awwwwwww, not at all," Honey said sweetly. "Come here, Baby. Let's go sit down." She picked Emily up, and carried her to a table. She sat down, and held the sweet little girl on her lap. "I see you've got your Honey Barbie with you."
"Yep," said Emily. "She's my most favoritest doll."
Honey grinned. "I'm so glad you like her."
"What a beautiful baby girl," a lady in her forties said to Brad. "Congratulations."
"Thank you," Brad replied with a smile.
"She looks just like her mom."
"I thought so, too."
"Does she have a tail, too?"
Brad grinned. "Yep, she does. It's just a little nub right now, but without a doubt, it'll grow pretty long, just like her mother's."
"I hope she'll be as confident as her mother."
"I think she will."
"What's her name?"
"Sunshine."
"Sunshine? Awww, how precious."
"Yeah, Honey picked the name, and I thought it was perfect."
"Maddie?" Kitty said to me, noticing that I was staring off into space.
I didn't answer.
"Maddie?" She tapped me gently. "Baby, are you okay?"
I slowly came back to reality.
"Maddie?"
"Huh?" I said groggily.
"You okay, Baby?"
"What?" I was very disoriented.
