Chapter 1

You wake up to a loud noise coming from next door, you know that your neighbors are noisy but this sound has a certain unfamiliarity. You reach for your phone to check the time, on the screen the time reads 2:14 am. You press your ear to the wall trying to hear more but the silence is almost chilling, before you can move your head from the cold wall a knock comes at your door. You jolt up and walk to the door, as your hand hovers the door knob you feel a sudden urge to back away from the door, a good call seeing as not even a second later the door flies off its hinges. You feel a warmth growing in your arm almost like energy building up, as the dust and smoke clear from the doorway you see a tall figure with what looks like a gun standing there.

"Hello?" You mutter as your breath shakes with fear. No answer comes from the figure and the warm feeling reaches its climax as you can now tell your arm is wielding a glowing sword from its forearm. Before you even have the time to process this discovery you feel a sharp pain in your neck, then your body goes weak as you collapse onto your apartment floor.

When you awaken you are met with a room with high-tech equipment, you look to your right and see a monitor. It must be a hospital or a medbay. You try to lift your arms but your wrists are restrained to the bed. A wave of panic falls over you as the loss of control triggers your fight or flight response. Before you can scream the door opens, and a man in a white coat enters.

"Well you finally awakened, how are you feeling Y/N?" The man says.

"How do you know my name? Where am I? Who are you? Why am I-" Before you can finish your rapid-fire questions he interrupts you.

"Slow down there kid, you are in the avenger's facilities medical ward. I know your name because it was on your ID, I'm Dr.Banner. Your restraints are for the safety of yourself and others."

"Well can you take them off? They are kind of chafing my wrists."

"We will in a second, I just need to ask you a few questions." He pulls up a chair and sits next to the bed.

"All right..." You say reluctantly.

"So how long have you known you had powers?" You were shocked at the question, it was impossible that you had powers... Or was it? You thought you dreamed of that glowing sword but what if you hadn't.

"Oh shit, you didn't know, did you?"

"I don't have powers..." You mutter

"All right, let me get those restraints off of you." He removes the restraints, and you rip out the IV from your arm as soon as you are free. You try to get up but your legs are like jelly and you fall to the floor. He reaches to help you up but you push him away and regain the ability to walk. You run out of the room and are met with a long hallway, you sprint as fast as you can searching for some kind of exit. Your heartbeat feels so strong that it might beat out of your chest, and you finally reach what seems like an exit. As you open the door you are met with a room full of people, you notice some of them from the news. They all look at you, but before you can keep running you hear Dr. Banner's voice behind you.

"Sorry about this guys, he seems to be processing the news poorly."

"That's fine bruce, give him all the time he needs," You notice who says this, it's Tony Stark. But you are so filled with anger that you blurt out a statement.

"PROCESSING IT?! YOU JUST TOLD ME I HAVE POWERS, AND I WOKE UP IN AN UNFAMILIAR PLACE WITH MY HANDS RESTRAINED TO A BED!! HOW IN THE FUCK DID YOU THINK I WAS GOING TO REACT?!"

"You had him restrained??" A voice says with a faint Russian accent, you look to see who said it, and your eyes are met with what you can only describe as the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. You stammer and slightly trip over yourself in embarrassment. Before you can speak again you feel yourself falling to the ground, the last thing you see is her rushing towards you.
