Chapter 5

As you walk to the gym for combat training you hear the grunts and blows of fighters that have saved the world. How could you ever compare to some of the universe's most heroic fighters, you don't even know how to control your powers let alone even fight. The bodies around you are sculpted like Greek statues, so perfect that it makes you keep your shirt on.

"All right everyone since we have a new person joining us we are going to go over some basics, for the people who don't want to do that you can go with Thor and go over how to combat otherworldly beings," Tony says with a tablet in hand

"Y/N we know you don't think you have powers and FRIDAY did some background checking and saw the last time you had training was 5th grade karate class."

"Yea I only made it to yellow belt." You chuckle as you remember you only had to break a flimsy piece of plywood to get it.

"Well let's hope we can awaken some of that training in today's session, we are gonna go over some basic defense techniques and how to break your opponent's attack mid-fight."

You walk over to the mat that reeks of sweat and weirdly success. You take off your shoes knowing from watching the Karate Kid that you are supposed to do that. You feel so nervous, these people are far stronger than you, and deep in your heart, you know you will end up getting hurt.

"God I don't want to go back to that hospital bed," You think to yourself.

"Alright let's see what you got new guy," Yelena says

"No Yelena you are far too advanced and unhinged to spar with him, Peter will you spar with Y/N?" Tony says as he gestures over to an awkward kid who nods without hesitation.

"Hey man, I'm Peter Parker or Spider-Man. I promise I won't hurt you!" He smiles, you can tell that he has a genuine heart. As you raise your hands up you notice Wanda talking to Tony, you hope she isn't telling him about the whole balcony situation. You aren't suicidal you just felt trapped. Before you can question yourself more about the situation you feel a hard force meet your jaw. You fall to the floor, Peter looks apologetic.

"I'm so sorry, I thought you were ready! Are you ok?" He offers his hand to help you up, you grab it feeling embarrassed.

"Alright Justin Bieber that's enough, I will train him," Yelena says as she moves Peter to the side.

"B-but Tony said-"

"I don't care what Mr. Billionaire said!" Yelena stands in front of you looking deep into your soul, she sweeps your leg bringing you to the floor. As you try to get up she punches you directly in the bridge of your nose, a warm liquid flows from your nostrils. You feel yourself getting angry and your arms growing with that warm energy. As you stand up she sweeps your legs again this time following you to the floor as she pins you to the mat. Your anger is no longer able to be caged, the sword shoots out luckily not piercing anyone in the process. You push Yelena off of you but to your surprise, you throw her across the room into a window. Her back cracks the glass and she slides to the floor, everyone is looking at you and you notice the glowing red eyes in the cracked reflection of the window, the sword also glowing red. You feel a wave of guilt rush over you as the sword retracts back into you and the eyes dim to your natural color. Yelena sits there in pain, you don't have time to ask if she's okay as before you know it your legs are dragging you out of the gym. You rush to the elevator pressing the four-button rapidly as the doors close to people trying to run after you.

You get to your room and lock the doors, at this time you notice yourself shaking and your arm lightly bleeding from the sword. You rush into the shower and leave your clothes on as you sit with the water beating down on your body. The water hides the fact you are most likely crying, you never thought you could hurt someone let alone that you had powers.
