one bed. as counselors, it was your job to manage the camp and manage the children. unfortunately, you had to give up your mattress to one of the kids since theirs was broke. in other words, jacob purposefully broke their bed so you would have to share with him.

at first, you hesitated. "i could always share with kaitlyn- or abi, or emma..." you suggested, not wanting to make jacob uncomfortable. leaving you unaware of his goal, jacob painfully trying to achieve it.

"no!" jacob and nick shouted at the same time. "they- they all said they don't have room!" jacob smiled and leaned against his bed, same size as all the other ones. of course, you naturally just gave in because it didn't matter to you.

your day went as normal after that, camp activities and such. shared glances between you and jacob, you and jacob coming to dylan to talk about how in love you are with each other, y'know, the norm.

dylan became incredibly fed up with it, why him and not.. any other counselor? after one of your sessions of you.. talking about how good jacob would look with a croptop on, dylan devised a plan.

every night, you and jacob had a pillow wall stuffed between the two of you. jacob would hold onto a pillow and never let it go, you would lay there with no blanket since it was on the floor due to jacob.

the day ended and it was peaceful, everyone saying goodnight. "god, abi, can you believe they stuck a booger on me? i almost..." emma ranted on and on to abi, but abi was fast asleep.

dylan saw that jacob was sitting on nick's bed, discussing something possibly important with nick. jacob tossed a baseball in the air, only for it to land perfectly back in his rough hand. fate, just like you and jacob. jacob manspread, seeming stressed as he leaned his head down onto nick's pillow with his legs everywhere.

you sat on jacob's bed, getting signals from emma to do something but you never got them. simply reading a book. ryan was asleep with his earbuds in and surely a crime podcast was playing. dylan knew, after all ryan is his boyfriend.

"chop chop fellow work friends, time to get some sleep." dylan arose from ryan's bed, clapping twice and heading to his own bed. everyone shuffled around the room and than settled into their rightful places.

dylan chose to fake sleep before finally heading to the pillow wall between you two. the creaks in the wood beneath his feet worried him, but hopefully no one woke up. jacob's a cuddler, and what better than to get you to be cuddled by jacob?

dylan softly pulled each pillow and tossed them onto his bed. "it's a win-win-win situation for her, for him, and for me." dylan whispered to himself. now, the hardest part. taking jacob's pillow.

"goddamnit- jacob let go of the pillow! it's just a pillow." dylan didn't want to wake anyone, so he only said that in his head. "fucking tug-of-war..." dylan muttered as quietly as he could, still witty even when he's supposedly alone.

dylan finally got jacob to let go of the pillow, causing him to switch sides and rest his arms around you. jacob definitely muttered your name in his sleep, but dylan didn't need to say anything. he only cackled.

dylan found comfort in his new pillows as you found comfort in jacob's arms. you were stifling a laugh, hearing dylan talk to himself and the struggles he went through. eventually, you fell asleep.

"dude, i woke up like- cuddling with her!" jacob uttered to dylan. "i don't get it, what's the problem?" dylan yawned, jacob leaning against the headboard of the bed. "you like her so just keep doing it. it could be something.. relationship-y but also friendship-y!" dylan suggested before leaving the cabin, not wanting to say something he'd regret.

"yeah, whatever." jacob scoffed, "no help at all." he leaned back down and rested his arm around your waist once again. the rest of the day you went on normally; but you had witnessed two shocking things out of the ordinary.

at last, you got the courage to go up to jacob. he was sweeping the floor of the cafeteria, whistling a tune to himself. "jacob, you like me?" emphasizing your words even more, you pointed at you than him. "uh- where'd you.. hear that? from..? who...?" dylan rested an elbow on the wood table.

"this morning, you admitted it yourself. i like you too, unless you changed your mind... that is." you shuffled uncomfortably, his blank stare making you feel small.

"yeah, i do like you!" jacob smirked, moving his stance a but before leaving a hand on your nape and pulling you in for a kiss. "hey, this isn't just a summer fling right?" you asked, wanting more than just.. a fling.

"a lot more than just a summer fling, you're my girlfriend now!" jacob proudly stated, sincerely smiling at you. "dude, finally. i've been waiting for this ever since our little therapy sessions happened." dylan huffed, leaning against the door with ryan.

"why are we just standing here..." ryan finally stopped his podcast, looking back and forth between you guys. "yeah.. we'll go now." dylan stuttered, taking ryan's hand and leaving. "duties to fulfill, campers to feed." you sighed, pulling away from the warm embrace that felt just the same as last night.

"my only duties now are my duties as your boyfriend." jacob snickered, putting and arm around your shoulder. "sure. wait til mr. h hears about you not doing your duties." you stepped towards him, leaving a kiss on jacob's cheek.

"oh shit, you're right! bye, see you later y/n!" jacob quickly picked the broom back up as you left the building.  you looked back and waved goodbye to jacob. he was so pure when he was in love. you could feel your heart almost jump out of your chest when you heard he liked you!
