I wake up in a cold sweat, my band tee sticking to my body. I rake my hand through my damp hair. Fuck. Its been weeks since...Vecna, and the nightmares haven't eased up. If anything they've gotten worse. I shake my head as if that will get rid of the memories the dream I just had.

I take a glance at my watch. 10:45 am. Not too bad. I'm used to sleeping in later. It's not like I have anything to do. The Hawkins Police Department cleared me of all charges, which is great and all. Except everyone in this God forsaken town still seems to believe I'm a cold blooded murderer so...yeah. I don't go out much anymore, besides going from Mike's basement and the video store.

I drag myself out of bed to take a shower. Since its a weekday Robin and Steve rarely get any customers, so I might as well get ready to go say hi. Maybe even rent a movie if I'm feeling frisky. A dry sarcastic laugh leaves my lips. The thrilling life of Eddie Munson.

After I shower and change, I check the time again. 12:30 pm. Eh, close enough. Might as well get going. But before I leave, I pack a bowl and take a couple hits. Might as well, I would have been about 20 minutes early anyway.

I finally gather myself up enough to drive to the store, not particularly rushing since the time turned to 1 pm right as I left the trailer. I finally pull up and park next to Steves car. Nice, they're already here. I check my hair in my rear view mirror as I open the door to my van and hop out, locking it as I walk towards the door.

As I walk in, I'm immediately greeted with Robins cheery voice.

"Hey Munson! What's up?" She called out to me with a smile on her face.

"Hey Robin, you know how it is. It's almost impossible to keep up with how wild and unpredictable my life has been recently. Hey Steve. How 'bout you?"

Steve looks at me up and down and walks towards the other side of the store, not a single word sent my way. You'd think almost dying with someone would make them like you more, but hey, everyone's different I guess. Robin noticed my eyes following Steve walking to the back of the store,

"Hey don't worry about him, he's just cranky cuz he didn't get the beauty rest he needs, right Harrington?" she called out to him in hopes he'd acknowledge my existence, but he didn't. "Anyway..." Robin continued on to ramble about the movie she chose and how it reminded her of Vickie, but I couldn't get my mind off of Steve. Usually he acts annoyed by my presence, but he isn't normally this cold.

My mind started wandering. Was he okay? Did something happen? Why did I find myself lingering on the memory of him looking at me so intensely? And why the hell do I care so much about Steves well being, of all people.

"Hey Eddie, you listening?" Robins voice snaps me back to reality.

"Shit yeah, sorry about that. I guess I didn't sleep too well last night either." I let out a nervous chuckle. Robin glances back at Steve and then looks at me with a funny look in her eyes, although it disappears just as quick as it appeared.

"So, did you wanna check out any movies, or were you just stopping by for a chat?"

"Hm, yeah sure. I'll rent a movie. What's the scariest, most gory one you guys have?" Robin nods knowingly at this request, as its what I ask every time. Definitely not because Steve usually hangs out in the back with the horror movies to try to escape my presence....
