Can two broken souls heal each other

When pete woke up it was 6 in the morning. He was feeling better than yesterday and now he has to report to kinn at 8 and will start the mission thereafter, so he had plenty of time to get ready. He got out of the bed, brushed his teeth and went in for a shower. The Bathroom in his room was small but there was a big mirror inside where he can see his reflection and so while taking the bath he saw his reflection in the mirror and touched those small-small marks on his body…on his hand just near the elbow, inside his thighs, on his lower abdomen, on the sides of his waist….these were marks of cuts he made to himself every time he had to pay for his father’s dues. These cuts were a reminder of his childhood, a reminder of the life he had to live before coming to Bangkok, a life that he doesn’t want to remember and can’t forget as well…

After a while, he pulled himself out of his train of thoughts and finished his bath and got out to get ready. He went to the cafeteria where he saw Porsche having his breakfast, he joined him. While eating breakfast pete again got a little lost in his thoughts and that’s when Porsche literally shook him, ‘what happened what are you thinking about so deep?’, ‘Ah nothing just like that’ pete answered. Porsche found it weird because they have been friends and roommates for a long time now and pete never seemed this silent and lost. He asked, ‘is something bothering you, you want to talk about something or someone said something to you, tell me what is it’ pete smiled at his motherly concern, ‘hehe, no I am just thinking about the work’.

 ‘work!!! Did kinn gave you something difficult or I should say dangerous, just decline it you are khun thankhun’s bodyguard, not his I will handle him, how could he give you something so risky that it made you worry so much’ Porsche said while frowning. Pete laughed at his friends caring concern towards him although it also made him feel good as he has a friend who thinks so much about him. ‘No No…you are not going to talk to kinn he is our boss not a colleague and above all, we are the main family’s bodyguards, the danger is a synonym word for our job and there is nothing to worry so relax’ said pete while patting porsche’s shoulder. ‘how can he say he will talk to kinn, I can’t even talk loudly in front of khun kinn and he take’s his name so casually and talks about him like he is the boss and khun kinn is a bodyguard, probably its khun thankhun’s effect on him when he was his bodyguard for a while, but it didn’t make me or arm or pol that confident !!! ’pete thought to himself.

After breakfast pete went to kinn’s room, big was already there and khun was explaining something to him, ‘come inside pete take a look here’ he called me on his table. ‘This is minor’s family’s house map with every escape route and hidden sections, you both have to go to this thoroughly so that if any problem arises you can escape without being caught and hurt, also it will be easier for you to learn the routes, so you both can spy easily while living there.’

 Pete and big studied the map  thoroughly and after a while they both got ready to start their mission, they bowed to kinn and excused themselves, ‘i know you both will not disappoint me, be safe’ kinn said to them when they were leaving. They changed to casual clothes so it will be easier to blend among people while following their target. Big went to the main casino owned by the minor family as it is where khun kan usually is and do most of his deals whereas pete went to macau’s university as vegas will be there to pick macau. Pete tried to keep as much distance as possible while following them, on the other hand, big changed his look so no one will identify him in the casino especially kan’s bodyguards.  

The whole day went by, after picking up is brother vegas went with him to temple after that they went for lunch after that vegas took macau shopping and after that, they went back home, vegas’s whole day was as normal as any other guy, actually its was also very oddly normal for a mafia heir and this exactly what pete thought...it was suspicious for vegas to have such a normal day. ‘fine, there is always a tomorrow’ pete thought to himself. On the other hand, big noticed some similar faces in kan’s office and tried to secretly take their pics while not getting caught.

The next day again vegas’s day went like earlier, picking up macau, hanging out with him, going to the temple and then back home. It went like this for about a week and pete was getting confused as every day when they both had to update kinn about their targets, big always had some new information regarding kan, like whom he met, where did he go, his trips, his visits and all, whereas pete had that same boring day today day activity about vegas to inform, which was now irritating kinn and Pete both.

Day 8 and again vegas picked Macau from university and they went to the temple together. As they entered the temple Macau asked vegas, ‘brother why are we going to this temple everyday from past 1 week’, ‘to distract and push away a loyal dog’, vegas replied smirking and looking back in the crowd with the corner of his eyes.
