Chapter 13

They both were still staring at each other but now this state was more of an anger. None of them was ready to bow their eyes down. Pete was still holding Vegas' wrist firmly and Vegas was looking at him with fire in his eyes and then suddenly he overpowers Pete, throws him on the bed and literally pins him down. They were back to their same position as they were in yesterday; the only change was that now Vegas was on the top and Pete was at the bottom. They were looking at each other and after a few moments suddenly Vegas's lips touched Pete's lips.

Pete POV

He called me a dog, a loyal dog of the main family. Actually, What else could I expect from this heartless human. I don’t why I thought that he was different, why I felt something towards him, why I felt all those emotions for him. I was so angry that I didn’t realize when he overpowered me and pushed me to the bed and pinned me down. He was lying on top of me, so close, his grey eyes they are so beautiful and then suddenly I felt something soft and moist on my lips ‘vegas kissed me’ and leave reacting even before I could realize it, he pulled out and literally ran outside, leaving me just like that or I would say shocked on my bed. What is wrong with this man? He should have kissed me naa, I know I am sounding very wired to my own self, but I guess I wanted it too, probably since yesterday when he stopped me from getting up and told me he cares for me. O god I am so conflicted with my own emotions and this man is making it more worse. 

But I know that I felt something for him yesterday, then I controlled my emotions to not get caught up in this whirlwind of emotions and today I am back to square one.

Vegas POV

I was so angry a moment ago and then suddenly I saw his lips and before I could think anything else I just touched his lips with mine. It wasn’t a kiss, it was just a peck, a very small peck with nothing deep in it. My lips touched his and I suddenly pulled up. I got afraid. I just got up from there and left his room urgently.  

As I came back to my room I took a deep breath, but then I realized and asked myself, ‘why…why did I pulled myself back, why didn’t I kissed him like literally kissing him deeply, invading his mouth, sucking his tongue…I wanted to…I so fucking much wanted to do that, but when I got the chance I just didn’t do it and why because…because…I don’t want to admit it…but yes I didn’t felt it right. And don’t understand why the fuck I felt like that because all my life I never cared about right or wrong, its either my way or no way…so why didn’t I do it this time. Pete you better stay away from me…because you are ruining all my plans. My plan to snatch Porsche from kinn, my plan to torture you…but here look at me, I can’t think about anyone else besides you and instead of torturing you I am getting tortured myself. This is not good. I need to control myself.’ Vegas talked to himself and suddenly he remembered what pete said, 'guy who loves controlling everyone, doesn’t like to be controlled’ and he realized that pete has actually started to have control over him or whenever he is around him, he just loses his self-control.

Enough…I need to take control of myself and this situation. I can’t let it all go out of my hand. So, I decided to do this one thing which I have probably never done in my life and might be really difficult for me to do as well but I had got no other choice and I guess sometimes we must do certain things which we don’t like but we don’t have any choice. I had to talk to Pete without any anger or threat or sarcasm, in a civil manner like a normal man, I know this is difficult, but I can’t see any other way out.

Situation

So, after taking this difficult decision Vegas decided to go to Pete's room again, but suddenly he heard some commotion. He heads out to see what is happening and saw that his father is back. ‘Pa is back so early it’s not even a day and it was supposed to take 3-4 days’ vegas thought to himself. As he went near to, he could see blood on his father’s suit although he didn’t look injured anywhere. ‘What happened paa, you are back early’ Vegas asked his father. Khun kan was giving some instructions to his bodyguards and turned towards his son after hearing his voice. ‘Oh Yes, we had to come back, the deal for which I went there, the other party tried to cheat and when we caught them red handed, they started the fire upon us. So, we ran to save our lives and we got out of there safely, but a few bodyguards got injured severely’ kan told vegas in a very casual manner. Which raised some doubts in Vegas' mind because failed deals always made Kan very angry, so how is he so calm right now? Vegas tried to look at the bodyguards who came back but he couldn't see big, ‘pa where is big?’ he asked. ‘Why did your interest change from that pete to big?’ Kan asked, raising his brow and then said, ‘he is also among the severely injured bodyguards and is at the hospital right now’ he replied casually. And it didn’t take a second for Vegas to understand this whole scenario. All this deal and meeting was just a set up his father had created. He purposely took big with him and got him severely injured. It was his way to crash the main family’s attempt to spy on them and send them a stern warning as well. Vegas took a deep breath and came back to his room. He almost forgot that he was going to Pete's room to talk to him in a civilized manner. His mind was totally engaged in thinking about how his father planned all this, and he didn’t even get an air of it. He was now more concerned about himself and his brother Macau as his father was becoming unpredictable day by day.

Next day, Vegas was up and getting ready. He expected Pete to come and greet him, but he didn't. It was past his usual time, so vegas called nop and asked him to call pete. ‘Pete is with khun kan khun Vegas’ nop replied while bowing down. ‘what’ nop's replied shocked vegas, ‘what is he doing there?’ ‘Khun kan asked for him a while in his office’ nop replied although he was a little startled with Vegas’ reaction.

Without wasting any more seconds Vegas rushed towards his father’s office. As he reached the door, he could see through the glass window, pete was standing with his head down and kan was sitting on this comfortable leather chair. Vegas entered the office, ‘good morning pa’, ‘Vegas why are you here this early?’, Kan asked vegas. ‘Oh, I just wanted to see if you are ok, since yesterday was so dreadful.’ ‘oh yes my son I am absolutely ok’ kan responded to vegas. Listening to my son from his dad made vegas furious again. ‘So Vegas since our bodyguards are still in the hospital and big is also severely injured, I am taking Pete as my bodyguard now since you have nop.’ Kan told vegas. Vegas, who was still stuck on ‘my son’ literally got shocked by what his father told him. ‘He is taking pete, holy shit, now it's Pete's turn…no no I can’t let this happen.’ This was the very first thought that came into his mind. So, he immediately responded, ‘Paa I think you should take nop with you since he is more accustomed with you and our working style and it will be easy for you as pete doesn’t know much about our working style.’ Vegas tried to reason with his father. ‘Oh, don’t worry vegas, don’t you remember what kinn said about him, he is one of his best bodyguard, I am sure it won’t be an issue, right pete!!,’ kan glanced towards pete, who was till now standing silently with his head down. As his father asked pete, vegas looked at him with pleading eyes to say no, not accept his father’s offer, he will take his life, but without looking at anyone else pete replied, ‘Oh of course khun kan I have no issue’ and vegas took deep breath trying to calm down himself.

After this everyone left kan’s office and as pete was going towards his room, vegas called him, ‘pete wait’. He stopped and turned around, vegas came near him, ‘pete please you still have time, just go to my father and deny being his bodyguard, he can’t do anything to you in this house.’ Vegas’s voice was soft with full of concern and uncomfort of knowing the danger pete can face while being with his father. ‘Sorry khun vegas, but as a bodyguard it’s my job to protect my bosses, not choose who I want to protect and who I don’t want to. If khun kan wants me to be his bodyguard, I will be his bodyguard, I am no one to deny or accept whom I want to serve and whom not’, pete replied to vegas straightforwardly. Vegas understands that doesn’t want to be his bodyguard because of things happening between them, but he can’t also let him go straight into the death trap either. With all the care, concern and pleading in his eyes Vegas requested him again, ‘please pete please listen to me just for once please.’

Nop was also standing there, and he was astonished with Vegas's behavior, how all of this is happening. Khun vegas is requesting someone or more like pleading that to a mere bodyguard and even though that bodyguard is showing so much attitude to him and literally dismissed his request. But then instead of getting angry khun vegas said please that to 3 times. Nop literally slapped himself on the cheeks a few times to make sure he was not dreaming.

On the other hand, pete’s mental turmoil was about to blast, ‘what does this man want haan, one moment he tells me he cares for me, then later he calls me a dog, after that he kisses me, then leaves me in the pool of dreadful emotions and now he is worried about me. I can’t deal with his conflicting emotions, it’s better to stay as far away as possible from him and better to be khun kan’s bodyguard than to deal with this shit.’ Pete decided what he wanted to do and told Vegas that he will not deny anything and will be Khun kan’s bodyguard now.

fter hearing pete’s declaration vegas’s anger outbursts, ‘Fine if you’ll not listen to me then I will do what I have to do and trust me pete you won’t like it.’ Vegas turned his heels and walked away. As he reached to his room, he turned around and called nop near him, ‘Nop, from now on you will keep an constant eye on pete whatever he does and where he goes with my father, if it's in the town you will keep and eye and if it’s about outstations you will inform me immediately ok immediately’, vegas pressured on the word, ‘I don’t want any kind of carelessness in this otherwise you won’t be able to see another day of your life’ vegas said to nop and nop could see the dark demeanor reflecting in vegas’s eye and he understood that one mistake and vegas won’t hesitate in doing what he just warned about. ‘Yes, khun vegas I handle this mission personally’ nop replied to vegas.
